Thanks for the video, got mine yesterday (Nebraska). For the hexes, since I backed the all in and have the neoprene map, I removed the cardboard map and put the hexes there in stacks of 6, I cut the thin piece of foam packing to make them snug. There are still 5 hexes that I put in the large well on the side.

Cool solution! But it would drive me batty to split them up like that. i expect someone to cook up a 3d printed solution soon enough.

I left the board in and fit all the hexes in the big well on the right side, stealing your idea of trimming the thin foam piece to hold them against the left wall of the well. With the lid on they stay pretty snug.

I’m boxing mine up right now. You can take the paper insert with the Mystic building up and there’s a tiny space behind it where you can put the extra white and purple block.

You can also just chuck them in the discard section of the tier ii tray.

Probably a good idea to caulk the baseboards help keep dust and such from getting back there.

The publisher suggests sprinkling them on top. i chose to place them in the open area of the bottommost tray, but that means other things get displaced. Check my most recent post on Patreon for pics.

@@whytemeet Did it make you a bit twitchy, too, that they organize into two stacks (locations vs everything else) but to do this, you have to sort them into 3 stacks to make them fit? :)

Okay so here is a huge tip on reboxing this game, If yours came with the miniature's tray located at the bottom, just take that whole tray out and leave it out of the box. Once it is removed the rest of the game goes into the box pretty easily with no lid lift and a bit of extra space to store the Legacy and Scenario cards in a bag or something. Also I put the yellow pieces in the way bottom tray, the one that has the scenario booklets and map, along with the tiles; they will fit in that large section. ((The miniature's tray, dice tower & neoprene mat I leave sitting on to of the Ascendancy Box.)) -On the Academy Board if you lift the card board up there is a small hidden tray under the Mystic Building that can hold the extra purple and white cubes though I put mine in a baggy somewhere else.

The alternative that I was doing to get everything inside was with the player boards i kept one lid and stacked the others together which makes them fit tighter. That just barely worked out to fit it all. For me personally though I think I rather just leave the miniatures tray outside the box since I might not always use it.

I leave the cardboard coins in the punch sheets (and use the punch sheets to help make sure the trays and whatnot are raised up so everything is flush against the box lid. This was an awesome (and sometimes confusing) unboxing! I guess it's good you eventually realized where the lost card disappeared to...? Yikes! Do the renown tokens maybe fit where the coins are? You'd mentioned there was extra space there.

It was MULTIPLE cards! The corner of one was just barely sticking out, thank goodness. And i don’t think you can pull that punch board trick here, because the trouble is not enough room, not too much room. Yes - each player gets a certain number of renown tokens in their box, so that takes care of those at least.

Just got mine, amazing box but honestly once you sleeves the cards is hard to boxing everything. Is annoying those big box that are a nightmare to box back

i’ve heard worse stories of games whose components can’t physically fit back in the box once punched. This isn’t quite that… but not as nice as if everything had been considered.

The Renown tokens are supposed to get distributed to the 4 colored player trays :D Those unplaced "Tech" cards go under each of the Estate Buildings, inside the House boards. Yellow bits go in a plastic bag. We didn't have room for a dedicated Yellow tray without notably increasing the box size. Same for the Location tiles. After you pack everything up, they can be laid on top, above the player trays, across several short stacks. Alternatively, the tiles can be stuffed in along the sides. Hope this helps! We probably should have printed a dedicated "how to pack up everything" page.

A couple of these, i figured out afterward - tech cards and renown. Location tiles seem better to me in the big well on the bottom tray, despite being weirdly shaped, and you have to split them into 3 stacks iirc. Nemesis envelopes can be stuffed down the side of the box, vertically. The role cards and especially tech rewards are the biggest issue imo… you don’t want to put the tech rewards in any player tray because you risk not remembering who earned which reward (depending on how long ago your last game was). i guess secret role cards can go in the tray with the champions?

In your montage I don’t see how you fit the score tracker in the box. I’m getting lid lift by about a quarter inch.

i was commissioned by the publisher to make a How to Play video, so i received one of the handful of advance production copies they had on-hand from the factory. They asked me to launch these videos because the very first backers have begun to receive their copies. If you’ve backed crowdfunded board games before, you know the fulfillment process can take months, and the speed with which you receive your copy is region-dependent!

You’d be surprised! i often just back something without looking too closely into it because i want to be surprised, or i forget what’s included in the 1-2 years the thing takes to arrive. So my unboxings tend to be me saying “whoa! i didn’t know THAT was in there!” for an hour, which i think annoys a certain kind of viewer.
