lucky your files weren't corrupted. i lost 250gb of my best footage from a month long camping trip i took to Hawaii. it happened on the last day, just before my flight back home. i put my gopro in a little tidepool to get a tiny bit more footage because i had just enough space for maybe 15min on the card. but after being under less than 3 inches of water for less than 5 minutes it shut off. i took it out, wiped it down, and opened the battery door to jiggle the battery around, and as i opened the door a bunch of water poured out. i rinsed and dried off the card and put it in a case, but when i got home all the footage was corrupted, and that was all my best footage from the trip. multiple videos from a month long trip on an extremely tight budget, foraging and catching the majority of my food, sleeping outside every night, all gone because a waterproof camera decided to stop being waterproof in well under a foot of water. but it wasn't a total loss, i did make some new friends, and i found out that it's possible to go to Hawaii for a month for less than $800, and that's including the $500 it cost for the round trip ticket
