I think I got it. The girl is trying to move on, but she just kept on coming back to who she was when she was with him, which explains the multiple personalities. As she heads towards the pool where he stood, the harder it was to fight the feelings and as she tries to fight it the more her past comes back to torture her. In the end she just lied there like a clock wishing she could go back.

I know this is an extremely late response... but I feel like the 'autotune'/ vocal effects were an artistic choice- to make it seem like the character is losing herself and doesn't know how to function like a regular human being/ live a normal life without the guy. This is such a jumbled sentence... oh well. But that's my interpretation anyway:)

My first listen was on Seth Meyers Late Show. First, their appearance was a smash. Just a Great performance. Reminds me of David Byrne and Talking Heads. About their appearance. I knew as soon as the drummer laid the beat down it was going to good. Then Jarrod's first line raised my eyebrow, As it progressed, Tegan and Sara was a delightful add to this wonderful group. If they come up with more like this their followers will cheer in delight as it was a "Class Act". Better Live for sure.

I have some background in video and STILL can't sort out how they switched dancers without screwing up the lighting or missing a step. The only way I can figure is if the entire house interior is actually a set, including the shot out the window. Plus, you have to motion track / shoot it with still frames (like the Matrix) to get it to work, AND you've gotta have the dancers copy their moves in the exact same spot. That's all possible and STILL a pain, even with all that control. I mean...dang. Respect. Great song, yes, but the vid deserves a frame by frame analysis. Too bad I've only recently come across the late, great Night Terrors!
