Nighttime Routine *With a Newborn & Toddler*

You guys do a great job with Zachariah. One huge tip, as an older mom, is to have Zachariah put every toy he has played with up every night as a part of his bedtime routine. Make it a habit. At first you can get a timer that goes off after 3 to 5 minutes and he has to have everything up by that time to get say a bedtime story, snack, or whatever he would like. This makes it fun. This goes for downstairs and upstairs. After a while, you won't need the timer. He will be trained. Make sure he isn't tired when he does it though.

With our first boy, it took about 6 weeks before things started flowing and we began to get more sleep little by little. With Caleb, he’s 5 weeks old, and we haven’t hit that groove yet. So we are right there with you! Very tired and even delirious some days. Stay encouraged and look at the big picture. It’ll get better! 🙏❤️ And congratulations on your new baby 😊

I was thinking that maybe you could rotate toys. So hide some away and switch them around. This can be tricky. Maybe at first pick toys that he doesnt play with as much and maybe he wont miss them. Also teaching him to give toys to a needy child when he gets a new toy. Just a thought.
