Wow, lucky! I have a friend who was on Cape Breton this past summer and said it was one of the most amazing places Canada has to offer. Truly beautiful. My family had a family reunion in NS about 6 years ago and that was the first time I remember being there (went once as a kid, but was too young to recall anything). The people were lovely and the landscape is breathtaking. I cannot for the life of me recall the name of the place we were staying near (it was not a super touristy spot), but I recall stopping at Peggy's Cove and my daughter and I went for a day trip and drove to many places such as Mahone Bay. I wish we would have had the time for a day trip to see the Bay of Fundy (I went once as a child but barely remember it some 40 yrs later) and another to go to Cape Breton. I grew up in Sask. and then lived on Vancouver Island, then Vancouver and am now living just outside of Edmonton. My favourite place, other than a couple on Vcr Island are the Maritime provinces. Well one fish of that size is just enough for a nice family dinner. In both fishing and hunting I'm following the old rule of "never kill more than you actually eat" (except for removing pests and harmful invasive species), I believe it's the best way to balance this kind of hobby with preserving a rich natural environment.

On Long Island, NY , our best striper fishing was early morning, 3am on last 4 hours of outgoing tide at the nessaguoge River. The tide sucked the sand eels out of the River mouth and the stripers came in close under darkness to feed! Incredible. The fish were hitting our waders! Freaking awesome! 😆👍🏻
