Okay, you’re a child who has been left home alone and you called your mom and told her that someone was trying to break into the house and she tells you that the birthday party was still going on? I’m calling BS to that. No way would a mother do that. Mom could have told the birthday mom there was an intruder trying to get into the home where her child was alone and asked if the brother could stay at the party until she comes back for him. But no way would she tell her son that the birthday party was still going on, tough luck kid.

What would stop 95% of these stories? 1: carrying a loaded firearm. 2: A good flashlight. 3: You're cell phone(hopefully your keeping this charged and no depending on It as a substitute for a good flash light). I carry all 3 on my belt..always. I say 95% because you know there will always be "those people" . I can't even listen to these kind of stories anymore.

I don't understand why ppl who're in a situation where there's an obvious threat lurking outside of their place, don't call 911 & say there's ppl breaking in..instead they wait 4 a window 2 get broken or worse, they dismiss it & go 2 bed! I've commented on this above. Lots of people saying, "yeah, there are parents who would do this" but I disagree. Even the worst parent isn't going to run the risk of their kid being abducted/ murdered, whatever because they're at a kid's birthday party. If the author had said, "my parents were out getting high/ wankered down the pub with their mates then maybe there are some deadbeats who might say that, but a kid's party? No. The story sound made up by a wannabe edgelord thirteen year old.
