You started to mention about “just the lyrics alone…” Point of note: Tuomas Holopainen (the keyboardist) is the composer AND lyricist for at least 95% of NW’s catalog. He’s a musical genius and quite the poet…responsible for that unmistakable Nightwish sound. In future songs you might hear “poet”, “ocean soul”, “dead boy” in the lyrics…those are all self-references to himself. I’m so glad you reacted to this one. IMO it doesn’t get enough love. It’s one of my favorites. It’s not as complex/sophisticated as many of their other works, but it’s just such a great “feel good” song.

Here's a we problem this song called: While your lips are still red. Music video is really great but was done in the days of there second singer Anette while everyone loves the live version with Floor as you feel more with any live performances with pyro, lights, smoke, crowds etc. If i was you i'd do both.

This song is all about living life and it is fleeting, but is also beautiful if you take time to pay attention along the way. Nightwish has many many sounds, and all of them good. They never write filler songs, each one is different.

Once Nightwish is experienced it’s hard to be disciplined to wait to hear more. I couldn’t. I didn’t mention it on my GLS comment, but I wanted to recommend that you continue reacting to the 2013 Wacken concert performances. Every one is fantastic, and what’s great about is that it includes many of their best songs up to that year. It’s like a greatest hits concert. You’ll have plenty of time to move forward in time to react to their later concerts, but you could do. Nightwish reaction every day for nearly two weeks from that concert alone! Go for it!

To meet life as a powerful conqueror, and nothing exterior to me will ever take command of me.' This beautiful quote from my hero Uncle Walt [Walt Whitman] was the starting point for writing 'Élan'. "The underlying theme of the song is nothing less than the meaning of life, which can be something different for all of us. "It's important to surrender yourself to the occasional 'free fall' and not to fear the path less traveled by." However, I think this song allows you to give it your own interpretation. When you take a closer look at Floor's outfit during her career, you will notice that she likes to adapt the style of her clothing to the theme of a song or performance. On the Endless Forms Most Beautiful Tour she was dressed like the Goddess Gaia, blue dress with white DNA strains, so in the color of the Finnish flag. On the Decades Tour she was dressed like Aphrodite, the goddess with the weapon of love. Also her covers recorded during covid were typical Floor dress parties. As the performing people in this clip are famous Finnish actors, Floor was dressed like a movie star from the fifties (or so).

This was the first Nightwish single with Floor. Once upon a time, English speakers did not have élan (the word, that is; we have always had the potential for vigorous spirit). Usually we prefer the live performances and there some great live versions of this too. One reason for wanting live is that many of the earlier studio videos do not feature Floor and the majority of newer KZbin fans heard her first and once you've heard her no-one else will do. The music video often watched is NOISE which is superb but with a deep meaning.

You are now forever lost in the Nightwish Universe - together with a couple of millions others.... I would suggest that you stick to live versions - and only do studio version from the album 'Human Nature'. Wacken 2013 Tampere 2015 Wembley 2015 Buenos Aires 2018 Human Nature album Hellfest 2022 Deichband 2022. Nightwish are a band you have to experience live - they are unmatched in their storytelling live. The grab Floor has on the audience are something you actually have to experience live as well - she is unique. I would suggest Storytime - wacken 2013 Or 7 days to the Volves - Wembley 2015

if you are liking these type of music i'd recommend you to listen to Epica - unleashed live retrospect, they are like nightwish but even better and in this they play with a full orchestra, it will blow your mind

Elan is Tuomas 'first gift to Floor'. This is a very good video, Floor looks as gorgeous as she sounds. But, if you like Elan, sound out Andra Ariadna's cover. A beautiful video.

Armée NIGHTWISH de France au rapport, très bonne réaction d'une très belle chanson mais vous perdez tellement de ne pas l'écouter en live, vous seriez autrement étonnée., les clips du groupe sont bien mais le groupe est bien supérieur en direct. I'm going to be very honest, Nightwish is one of the few bands that is really better to see the live versions first, and then go back to the studio versions. Live from Tempere or Wembley: The Greatest Show on Earth Romanticide Storytime 7 days to the Wolves SO many more!
