Glad you decided to react to this band ,This is with their 3rd singer Floor Jansen,a 6’1” Dutch vocal beast..They’re definitely a band that are better live,their studio stuff is good but it’s their live performances where they shine…they go from operatic though to rock,folk,Celtic and on to thrash and everything in between,hope you decide to dip your toe into some more..if you do then definitely use Gabriel’s list(he’ll be along soon)as it has the best quality videos performance and audio wise.👍

Nightwish Shadow Unit from Estonia reporting in ! Valkyrie Goddess spotted ! Gabriel Bardac entered ! Floor her name is derived from the Roman Goddess of Spring, Flora. Floor Jansen is called the Valkyrie Goddess of Metal and Empathy. Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 4 octaves (Eb2 to F6). She can sing from classical to belting and raspy vocals like screaming and death growls. And she's also a voice coach and teacher to boot. Plus, huge vocal nerd 😉. Floor Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg with classmates Jacqueline Govaert and Danny Vera, where she graduated in 2003. She studied musical theatre and a year of opera. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she gave singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016. From 1 October 2012 Jansen replaced Anette Olzon (Second singer of Nightwish after Tarja) as singer of Nightwish during the Imaginaerum World Tour (And she had to learn the setlist in 48h). On October 9, 2013, it was announced that she would be the group's regular new front singer. In 2015, Nightwish released the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful with Jansen as lead singer. Nightwish's second studio album with Jansen as front singer, Human. :II: Nature., was released in April 2020. And the master of this magic is: Our Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen (founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish) Tuomas the keyboardist writes about 95% of Nightwish songs, music and lyrics. He also composes the music for the backing track they use. It is recorded in London with musicians from The London Philharmonics. Pip Williams helps with the orchestration. There are two London based choirs too on the backing track, the other one is a children's choir. And of course with a synth you can do a lot. This was recorded at the 2013 Wacken (pronounced Vahken) Open Air festival in Germany in front of an audience of 82,000 people. The fiery bull head is the symbol of the festival. Not only is Nightwish incredible for their music, they are also really down to earth people! Unfortunately I haven't had the pleasure of getting to know all of them. I did however got a chance to work with Floor Jansen (lead singer, but you know that by now I guess..) for one of her solo performances. The Dutch aren't exactly known to be that friendly necessarily. Floor however is a wonderful woman. If you met her on a normal day, just out in the woods with her animals for example, you'd have a hard time realizing what an absolute goddess she is on stage! And to think she was battling breast cancer not long ago, and just announces she's pregnant with her second child! I did see the band live once, a few years ago, and they are every bit as perfect as the music video's make you believe they are.

Hello from Nightwish Army Brasil. Hello Inna, I liked the reaction and your smile at the moment of "Floorgasm" (Floor jansen is the singer and the last long note is Floorgasm). Among symphonic metal bands Nightwish is the most accessible. Start with them then move on to heavier bands in symphonic metal. It all started with the most extreme metal bands, Celtic Frost from Switzerland (difficult to hear due to the harshness of the style) and Therion from Sweden (classic metal with opera). Nightwish started power with folk influences and gothic ballads.

Nightwish is one of those bands where even if you know none of their music and have never heard them before you can still go to a concert totally blind and have it be one of the best experiences of your life. Also Im pretty sure Floor is comprised of 80% lungs.

But don't forget that there is nothing that Tatiana can do that Floor can't. Tuomas just not keen on growls. Try listening to Floor with ReVamp for amazing vocals from growl to clean to operatic. @@clivematthews5296 I have appreciation for ReVamp specifically Floor just not crazy about the operatic highs and to many guitars and Nightwish much better.I just think it’s the operatic singing but I’m open minded and I’m don’t listen to extreme harsh vocals only Tatiana mostly due to her clean singing tone the slightest accent and the way she enunciates and lyric writing and stage presence and performance.But I will give Nightwish more attention I’ve only seen maybe 3 or 4 different songs from reactions

You picked one of their best songs to hear them for the first time, Inna, but if you want to triple your enjoyment, then watch Floor Jansen's performance of "The Poet and the Pendulum." When you want to go further on the path of our 1.83m (6ft.1) tall Dutch Valkyrie Queen Floor Jansen besides Nightwish, here is some background information on the best and most versitale female singer of our time. Floor joined the band 'After Forever' in 1997 at the age of 16.
