@@Stefan7020 I would definitely expect that to be the case. Annette, despite how good she is in her own right and style, cannot touch this song; I have to believe it would've been a big disappointment to hear her do it.

A little detail to contemplate: Just observe, during the dreamy-quiet orchestral intermezzo, you have a crowd of 82,000 totally amped-up metalheads who are mesmerized into absolute silence for about a full minute. Now that's ATMOSPHERE! That's commanding the stage when you're not even on it! I've never seen any other bands who could do that, and I've been a rock/metalhead since the late 1960's.

you should see some Videos of the crowd from the german band "Böhse Onkelz" this is something else i tell you... In 2005 they ended their carreer and 120.000 people went on their knees to show respect to the band - without anyone telling them to do so... Luckily they reunited in 2014 and they set up a reunion show at the Hockenheim-Racing-Circuit in germany which was unbelievable in terms of the spirit at that show...

i dont think there are many live performances across ALL music genres that can compare to this one in terms of live singing. Her voice are so mesmerizing and enthralling its otherworldy. I cant even find a better word than you used in the video for it, "Angelic". She has perfect dynamics between all the different singing styles she uses. like Operatic, Classic, Belting etc. She does it all and do the crossovers like i never thought possible. I cant listen to this performances a single time without shedding tears, it's that powerful if one are willing to really let it all in!

I've seen Nightwish live twice with Floor and one of them was their 20th anniversary tour here in Finland, which was insane because it ended to a massive fireworks show that started during the last song and was timed to explode to the rythm of the music. I legit cried, it was such a powerful experience.

Floor Jansen added that killer end note as her signature marque on Tarja Turunen's original Ghost Love Score. The typical audience response was described by one metal webzine writer as "the audience having a Floorgasm." Some have affectionately re-dubbed the song title as "Ghost Love Floor."

Just do whole Wacken show song by song and then move to the other concerts and official videos, you cant miss with Nightwish :D Btw to songwriting... it is like 90% of all songs and 99% of all lyrics are composed by Tuomas( keyboard player) and then rest is devided between Emppu and Marco ( guitar and bass) and we can't forgor to mention Pip Williams and London Symphony Orchestra who brings the orchestral parts to live :) .... and great reaction video of course :)

Thanks for more Nightwish. Floorgasm. I'm never tired of this. It's hard to recommend one song from this show because the whole show was perfect. But maybe Storytime or Romanticide (both are official live videos). Or The Greatest Show on Earth (live at Tampere) from their latest DVD. It's a bit longer! Tuomas called this song his magnum opus.

11:30 That high note ("Floorgasm" moment as many says)! Every time brings the tears in my eyes! She must be out of this world, like goddess or some other supernatural creature! Tuomas (keyboardist) makes 95% of Nightwish songs. If you haven't done these before, you should next listen the Poet and the Pendulum (Live at Wembley) and the Greatest Show on Earth (Live at Tampere)

If you’ve ever witnessed a natural phenomenon such as a tsunami or volcanic eruption you’ll know that feeling of insignificance it leaves you with. The understanding that there are forces in nature that you just contend with at any level. Hearing Floor Jansen sing evokes that same feeling, as if she were a force of nature herself.

Great video man! Keep it up! Your reaction is legit! :D I went to this show in 2013, and Nightwish closed the festival. They were one of the last bands. I knew of them back then, but never really paid attention. I went to the show because everyone else was going, and I was really expecting some boring girly-stuff. When the music started I was like "alright... I dig it..." then Floor walks on stage and my jaw just drops. Then she started singing, I got goosebumps and my heart was just racing. The body of an Amazon, the looks of a goddess, and the voice of a siren, all rolled up into one amazing woman. The perfect addition to the band! There is just something about her voice man... I can't describe it. I've heard a lot of singers, and really good ones too, but there's just something about Floor, that makes her stand out somehow! Oh yeah, and it's the keyboard player and the bassist, with the long beard, who write/compose the majority of the songs. What is the song about? The short explanation is it's about a love that was not meant to be, or was one sided. Tuomas (keyboard player) loved someone deeply, but the one he loved went in another direction so he couldn't be with her. The Ghost part comes in, since the love they once had, continuously comes back to haunt him. At least that's what I think.

Nightwish got in radio play in 1998 in Finland with Sacrament of Wilderness single. I was 18 years old and thought "damn this is something different" . Still loving the band, it's only getting better. I don't really care about the singer, bass or drum player changes, everyone has their opinions. Just glad that the band is still kicking ass, maybe more than ever.

Woah your reactions to Nightwish is amazing. I recognize myself a lot in how you felt while watching them because it's such a magical experience to see them or listen to them. It's impossible to listen to them without getting goosebumps haha and it doesn't matter how many times you listen to it. And I totally agree on Floor's voice, it's a mix between opera but also a "normal" voice as you said in the "Ever dream" video. But it of course isn't normal, she should have her own genre dedicated to her voice haha. Well I loved your reactions and this is only two of the amazing songs of Nightwish so I will be looking forward to seeing you react to more of them! :D

Tuomas he's the keyboard player. He writes all songs and all music. The only thing he does not interfere with, is the individuality during the song. Like the lead solos that the guitarist plays, the drum fills that the drummer plays, just a little tidbits he allows other than himself. And has stated if it isn't broke, don't fix it. And all of the band members are good with that. Because if it's kept you on the pentacle 4 / 20 years something's working and they're not going to fuck with that. Also if you want to hear a song that's got so many emotions actually five parts to it... At Wembley Stadium in the UK... The poet and the Pendulum , holy shit that was awesome

When the last lead singer baled without prior notice, putting the rest of the band in panic mode....RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF TOUR,IN THE U.S. (DENVER CO.)They called FLOOR,this Lil dutch angel..."which is way better anyway, than past 2..." ,& which last 2, can only sing high notes in oprea style falsetto,and...without power or projection. But floor...she's a beast!! She got on a plane to come all the way to u.s./denver.co...to bale the band out ,and had to learn ALL THE SONGS...IN LESS THAN 12HRS. PRESSURE MUCH?!?! She's AWSOME! !! REMEMBER, all or most nightwish songs are epic stories,MEANING it'd be like turning the 3in. Thick novel, (WAR & PEACE),into a epic song lyrics...unreal. DID IT WITHOUT A SWEAT. They were blessed out, nobody else could be more perfect.

haha...was just popping into your channel to suggest this one, forgot to do it when you did the last NW vid. And yes...the Amazon Warrior Queen, deity in human form Floor Jansen is in a class by herself :). Welcome to the club! The entire Wacken show is top notch, just flawless from start to finish. For a change of pace, I have a suggestion from a prog metal band, and as far as I know no one has done a reaction to it yet. The band is Circus Maximus, and the song is Architect of Fortune...great live version from a show in Oslo, iirc. They're Norwegian, and the singer is on the latest Ayreon CD (the brainchild of another crazy talented Dutch guy named Arjen Lucassen.) He writes the music and then gets a dozen or so folks to do the vocal parts, and on this album we have Floor, Simone from Epica, Tommy from Kamelot, and a bunch of others. Worth checking out if you haven't. If you do, a great place to start is The Day the World Breaks Down. He introduces the singers and the parts they play. Really cool, worth checking out.

Part 1 Congratulations! You've just discovered one of the best bands in the world! Welcome to the beautiful and wonderful world of Nightwish and its huge loving, loyal, very dedicated and ever growing fan community! If you choose to come with us down this Elvenpath and take this Last Ride Of The Day, you're in for a real musical treat. Once your senses get tantalised with Élan, you will Shudder Before The Beautiful, let the Dark Passion Play with your emotions and let yourself be filled with wonder and amazement on this epic journey through this Imaginaerum. Prepare yourself for the End Of Innocence. Open your heart to the Wishmaster and enjoy exploring everything Nightwish has to offer. To start off, here's some information for you to get acquainted with the band, it's members, it's history and it's vision. Nightwish is a female fronted Symphonic Metal band from Kitee, Finland. It was founded in July 1996 by keyboard player Tuomas (pronunciation: u = w, o as in 'cold') Holopainen (pronunciation: pai like 'pie'). No less than a musical genius, a beautiful sensitive poet and a visionary. Nightwish gets its name from the song 'Nightwish', one of the first three songs that appeared on the first demo of the band. Tuomas is the heart, lifeblood, mind and soul of Nightwish. He is the composer and main lyricist. He also wrote most of the orchestral arrangements and does most of the mixing as well. It's fairly safe to say that 95% of everything Nightwish comes from Tuomas. Tuomas' main influences come from film music, video games and fantasy novels. He's a passionate gamer and considers himself to be an Escapist. Tuomas draws inspiration from fantasy novels, including Wishmaster, Escapist, and Wanderlust, which have elements from the Dungeons & Dragons Dragonlance series, and Stephen King's The Dark Tower series among others, but also fairy tales, folklore, myths, saga's, legends, real life, history, nature, religion, science, evolution. His biggest influence and inspiration is film score composer Hans Zimmer. Tuomas' greatest ambition is to write film music. At its inception Nightwish was meant to be a folk band with a keyboard player, an acoustic guitarist and a vocalist. In 1996 guitarist Erno "Emppu" (pronunciation: pu like 'poo') Vuorinen (pronunciation: i = ee as in 'bee') was the first to join the band, playing acoustic guitar. Also in 1996 Tuomas asked his then classmate from the music academy, the classically trained female operatic singer Tarja (pronunciation: tar like 'car', j = y as in 'yes') Turunen (pronunciation: both u's = oo as in 'look') to join. When Tarja was 6 years of age she took piano lessons from Tuomas' mother. Tuomas was very impressed by the way Tarja had developed her voice into a strong soprano, that he decided Nightwish should be a metal band. Hence forward they swapped the acoustic guitar for an electric guitar and decided to experiment with drums. In 1997 Emppu's friend and drummer Jukka (pronunciation: j = y as in 'yes', ukka like 'ooka' as in 'bazooka') Nevalainen (pronunciation: neva like slang for 'never', lai like 'lie') joined. Finally, in 1998 bass player Sami (pronunciation: sa as in 'elsa', mi like 'me') Vänskä (pronunciation: both ä's = a as in 'van' or 'can') joined. Nightwish was complete. In 2001, due to musical differences and behavioral issues, Sami was replaced by current bassist and great vocalist Marko Hietala (pronunciation: hi like 'he', et as in 'met', ala as in 'massala'). In 2005, due to several serious issues, Tarja was fired from the band. This will be explained later as the impact of it was so severe that Nightwish almost ceased to exist. In 2007 Tarja was replaced by pop/rock singer Anette Olzon from Sweden. In 2012 multi instrumentalist Troy Donockley from the UK, who plays Uilleann pipes (Irish bagpipes), bouzouki, different flutes, acoustic guitar and sings occasionally, was asked to work and perform live with Nightwish on a regular basis. Also in 2012, due to the main fact that all bands members agreed she vocally did not fit well with the band and the musical direction they were going into, together with the fact that she wasn't accepted very well by the fans and the media, on top of that the facts that she was pregnant and later got hospitalized because of a flu during the North American leg of a world tour and the band almost had to cancel a show, Anette was fired and temporarily replaced by the current and most versatile singer of them all, Floor Jansen (pronunciation: j = y as in 'yes', a as in 'car') from the Netherlands. In 2013 both Troy and Floor became official members. In 2014, due to health issues (insomnia), Jukka left the band temporarily and was replaced by his good friend and current drummer Kai Hahto (formerly Wintersun). As it turned out, in 2019 Jukka's temporary absence became permanent and Kai became an official member. Till this day Jukka remains very much involved with the band behind the scenes. This makes Nightwish complete as it is at this moment. To be continued ...

The whole song her voice is like wings picking you up and flying you around. The crescendo at the finale is when the wings turn into warp drives and take you to another galaxy. The energy she puts in that moment, it’s like she’s about to ascend to a next plane of existence, you rarely see people perform with such passion; it’s something to be cherished.

Especially she bought my heart and soul At 11:36 in your video with that majestic powerful scream ( I was afraid and thought you will press the pause at this majestic moment) I love how many sided Floor is and she can do all Nightwish songs and they will sound great. She has very unique voice.

Loved this reaction! If you ever are up for doing more, I highly recommend the following from Wacken 2013 - Dark Chest of Wonder, Storytime, Ghost River, Romanticide, I Wish I Had an Angel, Song of Myself, and if you want to see her animate the SHIT out of the entire crowd - Amaranth. (Although she animates them in just about every song anyway, lol) Pretty much everything recorded from Wacken is worth listening and reacting too if you need/want the material. Honestly, just. Amazing, amazing set list and with her pipes? Holy. Shit. Poet and the Pendulum from Wembley 2016 is also INSANE. So much emotion driven behind that song, and Floor absolutely nails it. And another REALLY good performance of her Ghost Love Score can be found on an Official Live version in Buenos Aires - she hits that final note like no other. Edit; Floor, as versatile as she is, combines her vocal skills in majority of the songs to pull off some otherworldly shit. Switching between chest and head voices, those operatics to her rock voice to growls, to... whatever suits the song for her, honestly. A good example would be Ghost River where she implements the styles she has. Or, Yours is An Empty Hope. Anyway. I'll stop coming back to edit this now. Would LOVE to see an entire reaction set from Wacken 2013, though! :) +1 vote for that idea.

Subbed! Haha, I love your reactions. Like you barely blinked, almost stopped gulping, pretty much figuratively teary eyed and all *pls don't be mad at me hahaha* You're true, her voice is like.. that perfect angelic voice ...or at least my version of it. Like, once I've heard her sing I realized soon enough she's like the pinnacle of all I'm looking for in a voice. She's like the angel beast or something, I like to dubbed her as a Valkyrie *hides* Anyway, please do the rest of the concert! The concert was really awesome, and plus I think (and also some other reactioners too apparently) that it has the best audio mastering/processing amongst all that's up on YT (or perhaps from all that they have recorded, even). Even if you don't plan to do all of them, please do listen to all of them still, it's really great! I don't usually watch a whole concert, like, at all, but I keep coming back to that one. Makes me really sad knowing it's another big moment I missed and probably have only a thin, thin chance to ever come across myself (since I'm from SEA).

efaltia // XARA : On another channel, someone called her Xena. My take? She's a female Thor who could destroy Thanos, lol -- point is, you don't have to hide saying she's a Valkyrie. If I ever died in battle, I'd want her to carry me to Valhalla - and yes, I am descended from Vikings (Erik the Red, Leif Ericksson), so going to Valhalla? Sign me up if Floor is a Valkyrie!

I love this song. Every time I hear it, I feel a bit emotional, but Floor gives it even more emotion, even more depth, and that thing she added at the end, the time you pointed out with her operatic voice going into a clear head voice is just perfection. People have dubbed it a Floorgasm lol, and I agree. Anyway, great reaction, and I love your input on the song. I usually don't analyze music in depth, I just enjoy and feel, and hearing people explaining the things that they like is very cool! Okay, definitely check out the rest of the concert, it was great! I particularly love Ghost River. I didn't care about the studio version with Anette's voice, but Floor has made it one of my favourites. From their DVD Vehicle of Spirits, some great songs are Yours Is an Empty Hope, The Greatest Show on Earth, and I'm there are more, but those two are the ones that stand out to me. The Greatest Show on Earth is 20min long, though, so be prepared! And if we go into the realm of the other eras, I think that The Phantom of the Opera from the End of an Era DVD is a must-see. I also love Creek Mary's Blood, but I've never seen anyone comment that one, so it mustn't be that popular, lol. And from Anette's era, there aren't many good quality live videos, and I don't like her voice live, unfortunately, but the studio versions of Slow, Love, Slow (great ballad), Meadows of Heaven, Master Passion Greed (that one is sung by Marco, the bassist) and Turn Loose the Mermaids. It's a long comment, sorry! But I hope that some of the songs I put in here will make it to your list!

If you're interested in her blending of operatic and chest/"normal" techniques, you'll definitely want to check out her earliest band After Forever, when she was around 19 yo. "Sins of Idealism" is a MUST. Then "Leaden Legacy", "My Pledge of Alliegance Pt. 2", "Dreamflight", "Come", "Emphasis".... This woman can sing everything.

Damián Nicolás Ferreyra Sins of idealism is an amazing example. Probably the best. I still miss after forever something fierce. It must have been heartbreaking for Floor that they split. And now I'm missing ReVamp a lot. But how could she have a baby, keep up with Nightwish's big tours, and then manage Revamp.

I know right. I miss those times too. Specially her badass attitude on stage, so fierce and wild. I think it was in this DVD (ST, ST) that I saw her that way, in Bless The Child and Romanticide. She's still a bomb on stage, but I feel she's a bit more restrained now. You cannot do a wild headbanging, an awesome belting, a fierce growling or a throwing kicks (as she did in AF) in songs like Elan or Ever Dream. That's what I miss the most, but I'm SUPER happy with her in Nightwish. And that's why I'm seeing them like 4 times this year, this new Decades tour setlist is unique.

I was more or less hooked on After Forever after first hearing that 10 second Bb5 at the tail end of "Monolith of Doubt". Definitely one of the weaker overall songs on Decipher, but it can grab people's attention.

Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player is the one who writes most of the music for Nightwish. Floor Jansen, before starting her own band ReVamp was more than a decade singer in After Forever. You can also hear her on quite a lot of songs by Arjen Lucassen's project Ayreon. The latter is a prog-rock oriented band with mostly science fiction inspired lyrics on what can be seen as concept albums.

I think of this performance as Floor Jansen turned up to 11. That build up in her singing in that part, is like someone is turning up her singing voice at every bit. :-) This is why I like this song better than the previous one you reacted to, especially when it comes to performances of Floor Jansen.
