Floor is the ultimate team player and she frequently sings backing for Marko. She also gets out of the spotlight when other band members have their turn to shine. Hogging the spotlight is not in her DNA.

@Jason blah shit all you want, Tarja put them on the map, if it wasn't for her, they'd never get where they are, argue it all you want. Also, Tarja is super nice, met her several times post NW era so it's easy to speak trash about ppl you never met, every shit story has two sides. Floor is amazing too but remember when dumb shit Nightwish fans were sending Anette death threats after she replaced Tarja.. Amazing band but along Iron Maiden, Slayer, Burzum and few others, band with the most obnoxious fans around.

Yes the composer of this song needs huge credit too.. and he got more than that for every song because he is there to deliver it. He is the founder of Nightwish and on stage all the time, the keyboard player, Tuomas Holopainen. He composes 95% of all Nightwish song, the other 5%, more or less, contributed by other Nightwish members as he presented his ideas.

Btw. that Wacken 2013 concert lasted almost two hours. Floor´s stamina was perfect, not a single wrong note, and as you´ve seen a phenomenal charisma all the time. As did the other members of the band, just think of Jukka drumming that hard, almost two hours ,and right on point. And did you think; there is no one watching at their cell phones! For a modern people two hours, and no cell phone!

Just some info on Wacken. It's Europe's biggest metalfestival. in 2013 there 135 bands attending over 3 days, There were 84.500 attendees (75.000 paying attendees). You paid 150 euro for a ticket (say 175 dollar). You can camp for free at the festival, can park your car direct to the tent, can have unlimmeted food and drinks at the campinggrounds, ofcourse at the festivalground you can not bring your own. So yeah, you can really say you get value for money. There are people who arrive on the sunday before the festival starts and make it a week holliday, and to be honest, Wacken is an expierence. Just walking around on the campgrounds brings you stories for years to tell.. And by the way, Floor did gave vocal lessons. Not sure if she is still doing this.

Did you pay really good attention? Did you notice how low Floor went... Yes - she can do that too.... You have so much coming your way, just keep them coming - Nightwish will never disappoint you - just take you out where you didn't know music could bring you.. A Nightwish concert is always a "once in a lifetime experience" - every time - and I have been to a few. This is art - just wait until you start digging into the lyrics - deep, poetic, intelligent - described and enhanced in effects, voice colors plus incredible voice techniques, primarily by Floor, but Marko and Troy are also subleme voice acrobats. When the band played "Last of the Wilds" Floor went for a complete outfit change and nearly missed her cue on the next song due to a stuck zipper. As she leaves the stage during the "Ghost Love Score" interlude, you can see her check the zipper. She doesn't do costume changes anymore as these were originally designed breaks for the previous singers while Floor just keeps on going.

Every song will provide you with a very pleasant surprise in the composition and arrangement, most done by Tuomas, keyboard artist. As you watch more you will see both guitarists, Marco on bass and Emppu on lead, and Tuomas all express pure pleasure in what they are doing on stage. By the way, Emppu is the prankster of the band. From Songfacts.com: "This was one of the first songs to be written for Imaginaerum and was described by keyboardist and composer-in-chief, Tuomas Holopainen, as, "a duel between the Devil and Mother Gaia." (Mother Gaia is the goddess who the ancients believed represented Earth). He explained to Metal Hammer magazine: "Since this is a dramatic album about the celebration of life and existence, you need the dark side as well. Floor has that “it” factor. She was born to be on stage! She actually had a clothing change during the instrumental, Last of the Wilds. That is one of the most amazing instrumentals and features Troy, whom you haven’t met yet. She’s got skills for days, classically trained and even though this was her ‘coming out’ party for Nightwish, she had been in two bands already: Revamp and After Forever. You will not catch her missing a note. She has had some difficult nights, one event in particular she had a head cold and still went on stage and killed!! Every member of this cast is a master of their craft. Tuomas (pron too omas) behind the keys is the Metal Mozart. Composing the majority of their music. Marko, the bassist, guitarist and vocalist a 6”3’ Viking conquerer was also in a band, Tarot, prior to his tenure with NW. Plus he’s worked with other bands as guest vocalist or bassist. Empuu, the warlock on the guitar, is the fun loving, prankster of the band. Jukka (pronounced yu ka) is an animal on the drums and in addition to being an excellent drummer also very animated. All four of the above listed members are from Finland. Floor Jansen (pronounced yan sen) is from the Netherlands... the Dutch Valkyrie Goddess stands 6”1’ and COMMANDS the stage. She says that she can’t dance but I say who cares. She moves with a grace that transcends dance. Last but not least, is Troy Donockley. An absolute genius with wind and stringed instruments as well as a handy vocalist. He hails from the UK.

Actually, Marko is 5'11" not 6'3". Tuomas is the tallest at 6'2" - Floor is second at just over 6'. Poor hobbit Emppu is vertically challenged at 5'3" but more than makes up for it in style and sheer ability. ;-)

The lyrics. I'm sure someone has mentioned this already.. but, On the one side, (Floor) A mother, perhaps, encouraging her child to enter the world for the first time. But, knowing what dangers there are leaving home. Marco, Life, or the world in general is the raging river you must enter to get there.. DARING you to come.. telling you what is in store for you should you dare to try. Especially if they are from a small town. The "river" takes many of our young. It can be cold and terrible. Heartless. Floor reminding the young adult what can be had. and a warning that the river can make you cold and indifferent to others just trying to survive it. I find it very moving. When my kids left home for the first time. it was terrifying for me. I know what the world can do to a young person. Beware the river. But, leave your mark where ever you can, regardless how bad you have been cut by living. For all the horrors there are in life, there is also great beauty and love.

Emppu, the guitar guy, is basically the prankster in the band, he always try to troll the guys.^^ On some point at this concert he unplugged Floor's micro during her vocal break and later at the show you see him approach her laughing and she turns to him like nope...you not gonna do it again. xD

Great reaction. Song of Myself please . It's in the top 3 from that concert. You will love it. Just trowing it out there ones again. She wasn't even a member of the band at this concert. She helped the band out when they lost the former singer halfway during this tour because of health problems. Floor needed to learn the whole setlist in just 48hours!!!!

I just got turned on to your channel and I love it. You two are awesome together I love the chemistry. I've been a Nightwish fan for about 2 years that is really cool seeing your reaction to them. Mine was identical. Just food for thought, the wacken 2013 show you can watch that in its entirety. So if you choose to bring us and the night was family along you could watch the whole concert live streaming on your Channel. Get some popcorn, chicken wings, some rum and coke and watch a kick-ass concert. I would love to do it. I look forward to more videos keep it going

Floor growls......twice, and y'all missed it. 2:11 and 4:38. You can really see and hear the second one. She does the costume change while the guys are playing an instrumental song halfway thru the concert. There is a costume mishap and she almost misses her first note of the next song as she RUNS to the mic. Part of the costume in not completely zipped up under her left arm. It is occasionally visible for several songs and is not completely zipped up until the interlude of Ghost Love Score. Nightwish trivia. Who said we are obsessed with this band. Well, they were right! I love your reactions but I gotta disagree about the smiling. The whole band is having a blast. Smiles abound from all the guys. Even Jukka(drummer) smiles every once in a while. This is the premier METAL show of the year in Europe, and they are killing it, and they know it. Floor has the audience in the palm of her hand. When you finish reacting to the whole concert, song by song, treat yourselves to 1hr. & 38min. and watch the whole concert non stop. It is well worth it...and you all deserve it. Great reaction!!!!

About midway through they'll start playing bless the child..floor comes out wearing shorts. I think it was a 15 song set. The heavy metal group Sabaton's drummer is Floor's husband. I could write a book on these guys. All their albums, live, there aren't any bad songs..

You guys are always fun to watch. New Sub here. You need to check out some songs from their Buenos Aries concert. That one is even more fun. I'd recommend "I Want my Tears Back" and "Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean". Floor's singing is amazing and her outfit is... out of this world.
