Troy is a multi-instrumentalist. In addition to the Uillean pipes and tin whistle here, he plays acoustic guitar, electric guitar (often with an e-bow), low whistle and bouzouki. You might check out 7 Days to the Wolves from Wembley 2015 to see him with bouzouki. Keep exploring Nightwish. Much greatness yet to discover.

Eramaan Viimeinen is the same song, with a couple minor differences, as Last of the Wilds with Finnish lyrics and sung by Jonsu from Indica. 2nd single from the Dark Passion Play album in 2007. I Want My Tears Back also has a good dose of Troy. It was played here at Wacken, but the Buenos Aires 2018 version is most often recommended because of the South American crowd and Floor dancing all over the stage. Romanticide and Song of Myself, along with Ghost River are definitely recommended from Wacken. Swede Anette Olzon was the 2nd singer. She went to the hospital and couldn't perform (she was pregnant at the time). They called Floor to finish the tour. She couldn't make it for Denver show. Kamelot were the opening band, Elize Ryd(now of Amarnthe) and Alissa White-Gluz (current Arch Enemy, ex-the Agonist) were touring with Kamelot. Those 2 ladies sang the Denver Nightwish set. Floor made it for the next show in Seattle Oct 1 ,2012. Wacken was 10 months later in August. The tour ended a couple shows after Wacken. Floor and Troy were announced as permanent later that fall.

Some other songs where Troy really shines are (from Wembley 2015 concert): My Walden (pipes and whistle, and Troy introduces the song and sings the opening verses in Welsh), While Your Lips Are Still Red (guitar solos with ebow) and 7 Days To The Wolves (bouzouki), and from Buenos Aires 2019: I Want My Tears Back (pipes)

World-class musicians create epic pieces like this! There is a video on YT that has Troy and Marko covering Jethro Tull's Locomotive Breath, acoustic.. Actually 2 versions...one on stage on the Nightwish cruise, and one of them casual, back stage setting, sitting in folding chairs, Marko in shorts...THAT is the best version to check out. So sorry idk how to add a link! The band is so tight live bc b4 recording a new album, they all go on a nature retreat to work out the songs, rehearse, and have fun. It's that bonding time that breeds their love and respect for one another and the music!

Someone asked Troy if there was anything he couldn't play and he responded "Hockey". He is an amazing multi-instrumentalist who plays, Uillean (Irish Elbow) Pipes, bouzouki (Irish Mandolin), low whistle, tin whistle (on this song), acoustic guitar, electric guitar (sometimes with an ebow) and anything else you can strum or blow into. Floor was doing her costume change here... funny thing is that she had a zipper problem and had to run onto the stage for her the next song (Bless the Child) and missed her first snatch at the microphone but came in on time. I am loving your reactions. Welcome to the Nightwish Army my friend.

Another great version with some good pipes pictures, is at Montreux 2012. For Troy on vocals, The Carpenter at Buenos Aires 2018 (my favourite show) and Harvest from the latest album - there's a music video and there will be a live one from ZiggoDome Amsterdam next year I expect. Song of Myself my No 2 - can't wait for that one. Did you notice at the end of this, as the final drum outro was coming, Emppu put his pick in his mouth and held up his right hand, opened it twice - indicating to Jukja that he should give it ten strikes. Info on Troy: Troy plays: Uilleann pipes, tin whistle, vocals, guitar, keyboards, bass guitar, pump organ, bouzouki, cittern, bodhrán, mandola, harmonium, aerophone and anything that can't run fast enough to get away from him. Troy re the pipes (please learn the setlist documentary): "You have to be slightly insane to play them. They're not easy." TONI (one of the band managers: "Troy, the other new member, didn't have to jump in as dramatically [as Floor], but he has become an irreplaceable part of this group, too. If there's tension in the air for some reason, Troy casts a spell and magically dispels the bad vibes." EWO (the other band manager): "Troy radiates the kind of cheerfulness that we sulky northerners can only dream of, but I guess some of his positive attitude has rubbed off on us, too." TUOMAS on touring with Troy: We start preparing about 30 minutes before the show [New York Hammerstein 2015], each of us in his or her own way. Floor changes on her stage clothes and warms up her voice in her dressing room, while we`re warming our fingers in ours. Back in the day, I used to get scared stiff before the show - it was just nauseating, pure horror. It all changed when Troy did some kind of a hypnotic trick to me in Los Angeles in 2012. I really don't know what happened during those twenty minutes, but afterwards, I haven't really panicked before going on slage,

Troy plays everything…he was asked in an interview if there was anything he couldn’t play as well as he’d like, his answer was “ice hockey.” Floor had been with Nightwish for about 10 months at the time of the Wacken 2013 show, so she pretty much had the songs down by then. She was at least familiar with some of the songs even before joining Nightwish, as her first band After Forever had toured Europe as Nightwish’s opening act a few years prior. Not to downplay her learning the set list on 48 hours…definitely an incredible achievement, but that was almost a year before this show.

@@facethemusic1970 Yeah for some reason there are people who have this need to promote a narrative that Floor was some unknown who no one had ever heard of before, and who had never done anything before ,who dropped out of thin air at Wacken and surprised everyone…and it causes a lot of confusion. The truth is that Floor was a well-known figure in symphonic metal long before she joined Nightwish. Her first band, After Forever, shared a lot of the same fans with Nightwish and had even toured Europe opening for Nightwish. When Nightwish parted ways with their first singer, Tarja, Floor was a fan favorite to be her replacement, which obviously didn’t happen then. Floor’s second band, reVamp, was also very active on the European festival circuit. Combine the above with her work on Arjen Lucassen’s Star One and Ayreon projects, and it adds up to her being a well-known, seasoned professional by the time she stepped in for Nightwish.

My list of Troy and his talent, Plays various guitars From old style classical guitars like the Bouzouki and Accoustic and electric guitars he also uses a handheld device called an E-bow which magnets creates fast vibrations over the guitar pickups and strings making it sound a bit like an electric violin or cello. He plays various sizes of Tin Whistles, and plays The Irish bagpipes called Uilleann pipes. Troy also sings backing vocals for Nightwish and in the case of the song Harvest which he sings a more leading role. Could you please react to the song How's the heart Acoustic version even though the music video version is also great with the whole band and is heavier also worth a look. But the acoustic version features Troy on guitar and Floor only and you hear just how powerful this song is. Thank you.

Regarding Chicago, I've always leaned towards "25 or 6 to 4", I think it has some to do with the Live from Tanglewood (1970) footage featuring Terry Kath and just knowing about his tragic end.
