Great reaction, Panda! We know Nightwish, their mastery in anything they do; everything has a purpose case in point Floor’s vocals “blending in”! And the deeper message, lyrics! We love Nightwish like no other, so we should NOT BE SURPRISED, but I for one was absolutely floored, mind blown into millions of pieces 🤯, again! After consuming daily fast food music, Nightwish takes us to the fanciest restaurant serving an unmatched 12-course musical experience - cannot wait for September 💙 IMHO there has never been, there will never be, another Tuomas Holopainen; Nightwish; Floor ❤️‍🔥 Can I get an “AMEN!”

it's an older song, but Edge of the Cliff by The Streets is an amazing song that relates to the ancestors and how many of them worked so hard to save life for us. Mindblowing to consider. The music only version is great, in the car and under the shower 🙂; I was biking 60 km today and could not get the tune out of my head, so a great job by Nightwish. Lots of details in this song, did you notice: Floor diving into Darwin's "On the Origin of Species"? Darwin? Einstein? Einstein's bust changing into an ape? William Shakespeare? Whales can both sleep horizontal on the surface (logging) and like in this video vertical? The last shot with the Free Diver he is dropping the camera? 3 Free Divers, two of them Finnish, one French: Guillaume Néry 🇫🇷? Nightwish dont dissapoint "did you feel the ghost energy song" I listened to this song many many times by now, and it is one i like to listen to with my headphones or without, its really a good song, when i can do so to me. Some say Floors voice is low in the mix, and i can agree its hard to get all words she sing, but if you look at it soundwise it sounds amazing!! and after a listen or 2, you know most of lyrics, and its no problem at all, its done fully on purpose for the sound experince of it, and Floor being part of the ancestor choir.. cant wait for rest of album!! Yesterwynde is the opening track on new album, i belive its only like a intro, its a little over 2 min long, #2 on album then is a almost 10 min song, thats proberly another epic!! #3 is where i think they bring in a heavy track, and this Perfume of the timeless is #5.. so i think its gonna be a good mix of heavy songs, Epics, and maybe a full balled.. Perfume of the timeless, well its almonst a ghost energy song right, telling all these ancestors is around in a timeless world, being around you still, and yourvthe perfume, also a message that your existens matters!! i feel tuomas also put in a little message that mankind could do better still, Einstein turn to ape.. The title of the album is a word made by band member Troy Donockley, which Holopainen describes as the feeling of time, history, memory, and being connected to past generation, who have "all had their lives, their ups and downs, and they don't exist anymore, except as atoms scattered all over the universe. And we're going to be in that state pretty soon as well. So that should give you something to think about." Marko left because he was suffering with depression.... something I suffered with for well over a decade. Top it off with being an alcoholic at the same time....and internally, I was a mess! I will be 25 years sober next month, and my medication for depression helped me get over it in the same time frame! I am glad Marko got the help he needed... and his song is brilliant!

Some people have complained that the mix for the song was bad....all wanna be sound mixers! Go find the YT video where Tuomas explains the concept of the album and this song. He explains it! Remeber...at the first part of the video...where it explains how many people came before us over the past 400 years....and if you pay attention...the choir that Floor blends in with is meant to represent all of our ancestors!! We are the "Perfume of the Timeless"

I honestly don't think the mix is bad. If anything, I'm in the camp that thinks it's a little too clean/good of a mix. There's something about the energy in the live performances that just can't be replicated in a studio. The band Snarky Puppy is a good example of this as well. But that's just my opinion. I think this song, in general, is some of their best work imo. Thanks for your support 🙏

How do you ever make out the kyrics? Love the effects. Love the sound, but I can only make an occasional lyric which is a shame. Maybe I need to watch it a few times to get used to the effects so I can get into the lyrics more ????

I had to look them up, and then I could hear them after a few more listens. It's easier to hear on the live versions, but we may be waiting a bit for a live version of this song.

Hi Lorna dude ;) , long time no see Well, at first time playing the video i was disappointed (more than just a little bit) about the mix, but as i checked what this song is all about, it just grows on me... fact: after listenings on the first day, i just whistled and sung the refrain over and over..even in the shower :) english is not my first language so sometimes it takes some time to get behind the lyrics and Tuomas wrote on the releasedate somewhere that this mix is wanted ! Floor´s Voice should sound like it´s one in a million and THIS is it ;)

Unfortunately this is real. Bad first nightwish song. I hope the other songs be better .after 7 phenomenal albums and two good enough albums , they do this.
