OK, to clear up where this concert fit in the scheme of things: Floor's first Nightwish performance was October 1st, 2012 at the Showbox Sodo in Seattle, WA. 48 hours before this show, she was at her sister's wedding, blissfully unaware that Nightwish was about to call in desperation. This performance of "Romanticide" at Wacken Open Air was August 3rd, 2013, so ten months after Floor joined the band. She had performed in other festivals with Nightwish before Wacken, but this one was the big one as Nightwish was THE headliner for the festival, performing in front of 82,000. The performance of "Ghost Love Score" at Buenos Aires December 15th, 2012 is on YT and shows Floor about ten weeks after joining the band. Already she had modified the vocals at the ending, adding far more drama to the song. In the documentary "Please Learn the Setlist in 48 Hours" we see the drama as Floor meets up with the band, has a rehearsal, a sound check then gets up on stage. She learned the songs while flying over the Atlantic and on the drive to Seattle. Most of the songs she had never heard before as her experience opening for Nightwish as a member of After Forever was in the Tarja era which predates all of the Imaginarum and Dark Passion Play material that made up these setlists.

@@monicacarolina6480 She was an official member of the band along with Troy at Wacken 2013. Somewhere around May or June of 2013 both her and Troy were made members. Nightwish just neglected to announce that fact. It was only when the band was putting the credits together for the Wacken BluRay that they realized they hadn't made the announcement.

AFAIK that wedding was earlier than that. It was when it became clear that Anette would not be able to do the tour to the end and NW asked if Floor would be able to step in.

@@billattercliffe8655 Yes. But that call wasn't the one 48 hours before the first show. That call was the one to find out if she would be free to take the job. At least that is my take from those same interviews considering what the Floor's reply was. IIRC her reply was along the way of "I'm in the middle of something. Would you mind if i call back?" And the reply was " Take your time. We just want to know if your interested of the job."

BRUH, since your first NW reaction I've been saying Floor is gonna "floor" you again w/ her low guttural metal growling in "Yours is an Empty Hope" Live at WEMBLEY (the mix is best in the Wembley version). In that song Floor has a "rock" voice, turns into a Siren in the Fog and then does the growling in ALL of the choruses, ALL. (No , it's NOT Marko growling, it's FLOOR!!!!!)

@@GP42Reacts Keyboardist & NW composer Tuomas doesn't like growling so this is the ONLY Nightwish song Floor does it consistently, although in other songs like Ghost River she'll throw a quick one in lol. In her 2nd band ReVamp, which by the way she was still in when she joined Nightwish (yes Floor was in TWO bands from 2013-2016), she does a lot of harsh vocals in that band!

The “scream” at the end is called a glissando, going from low to high and back, for classically trained singers this is an exercise to warm up the vocal cords, so Floor will do this probably every day before breakfast . Floor Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever (at the age of 16) from 1997 to early 2009. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016. From 1 October 2012 Jansen replaced Anette Olzon (Second singer of Nightwish after Tarja) as singer of Nightwish during the Imaginaerum World Tour (And she had to learn the setlist in 48h). On October 9, 2013, it was announced that she would be the group's regular new front singer. Floor continued to perform with 'Revamp’ also, but it was clear that she could not combine the two for much longer, so 'Revamp' disbanded in 2016. Floor did a side project called 'Northward' where she dived into the Hard Rock scene. In 2015, Nightwish released the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful with Jansen as lead singer. Nightwish's second studio album with Jansen as front singer, Human. :II: Nature., was released in April 2020. and more is on the way .... NWSU/FloorFan 🤘😎🤘

The pop up to high notes I believe is to emphasize the line or word in the storyline. Most metal singers go low to do so but Floor can hit highs so smoothly she does things differently

Not sure who always says she had been in the band for only two weeks when they played the Wacken show…she joined in late 2012 for a gig in Seattle after Annette got the boot and she finished out the US tour. Then there was a South American Tour i believe and this show was in Aug 2013. So as robertcorrell4506 said, it had been 10 months. I do believe it was her first big show with them in Europe however…

Marco's bass is a Warwick Vampire (I think). He also uses a double neck that he calls "The Beast," which is a Warwick bass on the top neck and a Framus six-string on the bottom neck (see his performance using the Beast on "The Islander" from their 2015 Tampere, and on "My Walden" from 2015 shows Wembley or Tampere, and on "Dead Boys Poem" from Buenos Aires 2018 show

It can be confusing as she performed with them first after only 48 hours having learned the songs while travelling from The Netherlands to the USA. There is also an early video of Ghost Love Score in late 2012 in South America. But this is one of the first concerts in Europe to by far the biggest crowd of 82,000. So most had not heard or seen Floor sing with Nightwish

This is their first or maybe second libe show since Floor joined the band. Ahe had to learn the entire setlist, all the lyrics and melodies in less than 48 hours. I believe there is a documentary style video about it up on youtube. Search "Please learn this setliat in 48 hours". Not sure thats the exact title but its something very similar ao you should be able to find it. Floor is just a different kind of animal. An absolute Apex predator, there _is_ no threat to her, ever, she can do literally fakking anything and with ease.

She was called up by Thomas in the middle of this very tour to help the band finish the tour. She did. This was 5 months after she joined them. It was after this show that she got the spot permanently.

Not a big chance you'll see them live. They won't do touring for the upcoming album and I am kinda reading between the lines that they won't tour ever again. Just my feeling in this matter, not a fact. But they had a main member leave recently, Marco, they are all in or almost in their 50ties except floor , who is also in her mid 40ties soon, and I get the feeling Tuomas, who is kinda Nightwish in person, he writes 99% of their material, and pretty much calls the shots, has been there and done that, at least that is the vibe i am getting from him for the past 2 years.

Based on how Kai talked in the summer, i really doubt this "they won't tour ever again". People love to tell "oh i so much hope they take care of themselves" and five minutes later when the band says they need a little break, dark clouds come and "they'll never tour again". They are still very young.
