According to Tuomas in the book Once Upon a Nightwish, this song was inspired by one of Tarja's friends harshly criticizing him late one njght in a bar. They apparently told him he was nothing and that all of Nightwish's success was due to Tarja's talent. He went home and wrote this song in a drunken rage. It was filled with expletives which he had to go back and clean up.Tuomas is using vampire imagery to show how he feels. Last, you have to love the South American fans. Very passionate and full of energy and not just for Nightwish. 6:27

The friend told Tuomas he was treating Tarja like crap. He didn't say the success was only due to Tarja

One of the mad bocals, almost the end of a 150 minute show and those rapid triplet onsets at the end! Another one completely revitalised by Floor's capabilities and Marco's.

My favourite NW song changes with my mood. How lucky are we that they have a 30 year catalogue with 3 different vocalists? ❤❤❤

This is a song that Tuomas wrote back in the early years its directed towards the music industrial complex trying to tell him how to write his music .

According to their book he wrote it because one of Tarja’s friends were being a jerk to him. Could be about two things though. 🤷🏻♀️

Another Tuomas interpret it yourself song. Yes there is a real reason behind this song but for many of us on the surface it does seem like a Vampire song and i find it more fun to think of it that way over the real personal reason behind this song.

A figurative stake to the heart. The song is about a songwriters feelings when their work is harshly criticized. From the 2002 Century Child album, Emppu co-wrote the music on this one, with Tuomas. This Decades tour played a lot of the older Tarja era songs.

Powerful stuff . Did you notice, how Thomas hammered his instrument with a fist...hot damn ❤🔥!!!! Tuomas, Nightwish's songwriter, wrote this one night in a fit of rage, and had to edit it later on to get rid of all the profanity. It's an angry song directed toward the greed of mankind, and their stupidity. Floor is able to handle both the Operatic songs from the Tarja era and the more pop style of Annette, so that the band was able to have great live concerts doing a "Decades" tour with so much of their older music mixed between the different eras pre Floor. Also I think everyone wants "Live" Nightwish because the live shows were with Floor before Tuomas was able to write new music for the Floor era. This song was from the Tarja era and Tarja did a great job with it as it was written for her style, but it's great that Floor can also cover this music from the early days of Nightwish. NWSU/FloorFan 🤘😎🤘

It does sound like a vampire song. The music industry was doing the blood sucking in this song. An angry reaction by Tuomas towards the greed and criticism from the music industry towards Nightwish and Tuomas' musical compositions.
