This is the song that saved Tuomas life.. he went through a very hard time and he desided to take his life in this song and not in real life. The song is a true masterpiece.

The story behind this song...it's everything! My favorite Nightwish song, for all reasons.
@AddaHietala6 жыл бұрын
THE most intense Nightwish song! It has so much personal tragedy behind it. I really recommend you guys go through the lyrics, they give me the shivers and tears in my eyes every single time I listen to that song. It's true what someone else has mentioned below, Tuomas did say in interviews that this was his therapy after the events around Tarja's firing. If you go deep into the words, you'd find great, touching, even ground shaking lines. The song starts with "The end" and ends with "the beginning", to underline the cathartic experience the poet has. The dispear in "I cannot cry, 'cause the shoulder cries more" or "Tell me once my heart goes right". The words semi-whispered by the boy. The line "Now I only have 3 minutes and counting" after realising there's exactly 3 minutes until the poet's death in the song. And that heart when it stops beating... I could go on forever about this song and I would choose it any day over The Greatest Show on Earth! I just love when other people discover what a treasure Nightwish's music is! Next track you should check out: Song of Myself

In this song Tuomas kills himself so that he wouldnt need to die in real life. Hole song is about the pain, agony and torture that Tuomas had to experience. This is sad song but in same time so beautifull :( Please do Nightwish - The siren (end of an era)

“Had” to experience? He broke his contractual and actual word to part amicably with Tarja after their tour by publishing an open letter in the press calling her a greedy fame whore and then tried to blackball her with everyone he knew in the industry.
@jariseppala97196 жыл бұрын
@FairsleyDifference. Tuomas was the only one who didn't want to kick her. Marco self said, that he was first to say that he would leave, if TT stayed. So, instead to break the band, Tuomas agreed to kick her. But because Tuomas was considered to be the leader, he got all the shit on him. Mostly it was Tarja's husband to blame. He demanded more and more to Tarja. She didn't even use same transportation as the rest of the band. Instead she used private planes, on band's expense. Just one example. And Tarja said that she would leave after next record, anyway. So not much difference there.

O que mais me impressiona quando escuto a Floor é que as músicas do Nightwish não foram escritas para a voz dela, mas ela faz uma versão tão espetacular que na maioria das vezes ofusca a versão original. Seeing as you froze to Floor's voice at 5 minutes or so, I think it's time for you to check another mighty Dutch sympho gothic metal band - Within Temptation. Ice Queen or Stand My Ground from Black Symphony DVD (Live in Rotterdam 2008)! I would say that Nightwish, Epica and Within Temptation make up the big 3 of the genre (even though Epica is a lot younger). The vocalist of Within Temptation, Sharon den Adel is easily one of the most magnetic female singers and live performers in metal.

Tuomas wrote this song about himself, after Tarja left the band. He fell in deep depression and he didn't know, how about the future of Nightwish. When Tuomas wrote the first Nightwish album Dark Passion Play after Tarja's left, the band there had not singer. This album, Dark Passion Play literally saved Tuomas' life, it's because this album is the darkest, heaviest one from Nightwish. There in this album the heaviest song of Nightwish story Master Passion Greed. Tuomas dedicated this song to Tarja's husband, whom Tuomas blamed for Tarja's left. They never played in concert this song, but it could be very strong live performance. Highly recommended song for you guys! Here's the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYSaf6WGg890eas

They never performed Master Passion Greed live due to the lawsuit Tarja's husband put against them. The song is nothing but a fruit of pure hate and jealousy. So is Bye Bye Beautiful. Well, if you want to hear the other side, you'll have a lot of Tarja's songs too. Enough, Dark Star, Love To Hate, Diva and some others, people would say...

Well, she was a diva and a douche with her heart elsewehere. According to the open letter from the other four, she had told Toumas that she would only record one more album with them and then only limited touring. So they couldn't work together under those circumstances. As Toumas wrote in the letter: "I can't simply write any more songs for you to sing." So they fired her. web.archive.org/web/20060410185248/nightwish.com/en/article/6
@matheusdelacela31956 жыл бұрын
Robert Lundkvist do you really believe everything they said? They were so much of cowards that couldn't even say that to her face. And did the same to Anette when she was pregnant and ill in a hospital in the US. They just e-mailed her telling she was out and called Floor to sing with them. I don't give them any trust at all after this. I don't believe that Tarja was not guilty because she talked about all the fights they had and about how they treated the singers. They were cursing her at the studio at the Oceanborn recordings and they made her record the vocals without her approval. And many many problems after that om touring and etc. And they did it again. Tarja was the face and the fame of the band. They worked well on a fairytale of lies so her image would be damaged with the departure, and not theirs. They were an awesome band with a unique sound and feeling that time. It's a pity that everything went like this... :(

I saw Epica rather incidentally last year (I only went to see one of the opening acts) and I was not into Symphonic Metal at all. I had listened to some of their tracks on Spotify since I was going to the show, and honestly I wasn't that impressed with the studio stuff. After Myrkur played we figured we'd have a drink and check out a few Epica songs before heading out early to beat traffic... but we ended up staying for the whole show because they are a fucking amazing live band! I was so lucky to be at that concert. Honestly, one of the best experiences ever! Anyways, how is that even possible, that you didn't do any songs of Lacuna Coil?! Greetings, and keep up with your hard work

If you find this version but with lyrics, this song is in 5 parts. Truly Tuomas is a master & this song is a masterpiece.

Pretty sure OSTs are some of Tuomas' biggest inspiration, and Hanz Zimmer I think is also a major influence for him. Also, really hard for me to listen to the album versions of most nightwish songs.

Have you heard the Finnish band To/Die/For? They have done amazing covers of well known songs. Listen to their own song Hail of Bullets.

I have heard of them, I was introduced to them with It's a sin from Pet Shop Boys.

A&P-REACTS Ok! What about the band Civil War? Several former members of Sabaton play in that band. Personally I can’t stand the singers voice...

We did Bay of Pigs from Civil War, that singer has left, they have a new singer now.
