I think it´s very understandable for them to have a break after touring for 1.5yrs. The main point is they are taking care of themself and this will allow the magic of Nightwish live well on into the future. I´m really looking forward to the new album and Nightwish seem to be very excited about the ´next adventure`.

People have to remember that Floor is pregnant. The first years of a baby is crucial bonding time. Can’t do that on tour. Yes they had a break during pandemic, but NightWish families weren’t able to take True vacations or travel. They are human, the have the right to spend quality time with their families, take trips for leisure and even catch their breath. I do not see this as a bad thing. Yes we all want to see them live, but I am so happy they decided to take a break rather than replace floor while taking care of the baby. Ultimate sign that she is their Front lady and they won’t change that ❤

@xashfordx No, Anette wasn't fired for being pregnant or ill... she was fired bc she agreed b4 the tour started that a sub would be brought in, should she become unable to perform...then when she was hospitalized she took that back and demanded the band postpone shows instead. Harsh words were exchanged, no doubt, and I'm sure there was more to it...but it wasn't bc of pregnancy.

yeah the album will be released after the new baby is born, it's release date is next year and if they did tour it, it would be around the time the baby is a year old or a bit older. I think it has way more to do w the fact that they've been a hard touring band since 99'. They're getting older, they have families, they need a break. And each tour comes w/ a huge price tag and these bands that aren't raking in the dough, like Metallica, Maiden etc. I think sometimes they have to ask themselves if we break about even on this tour is it really worth all the stress, emotional, physical tolls? I think they'll release the album, see how it sales.. and then go from there on what they want to do. Cause Human II Nature didn't sale well at all compared to some of the previous albums. They may have lost money on it this time. Gotta remember Nightwish mainly plays small theaters, some arena's in Europe and South America, and of course when they're playing European festivals there is a large audience but it's not just for them, they get a smaller cut, not nearly as much as some people would think. Most bands play those festivals for the exposure to a large crowd in one night of playing. Hoping to gain more fans, which in turn will buy their cd's, merch, future concert tix etc. Look at how many new fans came around because of one night they played at Wacken in 2013.

@@ryant3600No you dont. Nightwish did not play Europa Tour 2022 in small 1500-3000 capacity venues. This is fake news. Nighwish European Tour 2022 was mostly performed in large sports halls. The capacity is usually well over 10,000 seats. For example, Ziggo Dome Amsterdam 17,000 seats 2x sold out. Paris Accor 20,000 seats, sold out. etc etc According to Tuomas, ticket sales went exceptionally well in Europe.
@ryant3600 Жыл бұрын
@@petrihartikainen4645 again where did I say the played small v1500-3000 capacity venues in Europe? I never said that. I said arena's in Europe and South America.. And although those tix sales went well, doesn't mean it was a big money making tour. Touring is a huge cost, most bands back in the day actually lost money on tours, they depended on album sales. To help make up the difference. Now, it's the opposite. But if it's a world tour w/ a stage set and all the costs that go into logistics etc. Remember bands that toured arena's depended on album sales to help make up the cost of tours. And Album sales today don't do that. Even though tix are being sold at ridiculous prices, the band doesn't get all that. There's a lot, the tix companies like Ticketmaster etc gets a huge percentage, promoters, event staff, band staff, hotels, catering, etc, etc and don't forget taxes. Europe's taxes are a lot higher than the states, but a lot goes into that. . So when a band that tours the entire world like Nightwish did and has done many times and the album sales aren't huge, Sometimes you have to step back and figure something out on how to make touring worth it. It is a business and all businesses are there to make the most money possible. I'm a huge Nightwish fan, but they are one of those bands that just won't be a world wide huge touring band like: Maiden, Metallica etc. They're more of a mid tier touring band. Huge in Europe and pretty big in South America and Asia, and just a theater tour band in the North America. I wish they were as big as Metallica, Maiden etc. I certainly believe they deserve to be. They're amazing, but they're just not. So I still think a lot them not taking time off the road this next few years has a lot more to do with finances, making it work for them, and just time to be home w/ families and just a needed break and hoping that taking years off from the road will build a bigger tour and audience world wide. Especially in the Western Hemisphere. I hope so anyway.
@ryant3600 Жыл бұрын
Well, going back and looking at their entire touring career, well since 1999. they've done nearly a thousand shows. Each show costs a lot of money to do. Full world tours like they've been doing comes with a huge price tag. Not just financially, but emotional, physical, etc. It's really a lot, i don't blame them for wanting to take some time off, but still being creative and giving the fans a new album while they take a much needed break. They're probably going to see how well the album sales before committing to any new tours, again tours come with a huge price tag, it is a business and if they're not making enough to really come ahead, then is it worth the emotional, physical toll it takes? Not saying that's what it is, but I wouldn't blame them if that's part of it. Human II nature didn't sale nearly as well as some of the previous albums. and Remember Nightwish outside of Festivals which they don't get a huge pay check for, play mainly 1500-3000 capacity theaters.. some arena's in south america and Europe but mostly smaller places.. Touring costs A LOT of money so it's not like they're making a ton of money touring

They just completed a world tour of 1.5 years. If you want to score with your title of your video, make sure you know what you're saying. During the pandemic they put on a streaming concert for the fans, what more band can say than Epica. Floor is pregnant and has some after-effects from her breast cancer diagnosis at the end of last year. They have just returned from Asia, or are still working there. Have great respect for this band and if they want some peace now I can imagine that, they also have families at home and children. Marco left because of things like this, don't forget that.

It's really heart-warming to read how all Floor fans understand how Floor needs quiet time of her own, and can't serve her fans all the time in every part of the world at Nightwish gigs, when there's also her own solo career to think about. A young student girl who was trying to get her own time for her singing studies has not received so much understanding from them.

I think over the years, especially after 2020, Toumas may have softened up a little bit. When you go through a global crisis, followed by a death in the family, some people do reevaluate things and behaviors. I know I did!

@@FemaleMetalLover and not to mention Tarja was raped on stage because security wasn't doing their jobs! And the boys in NW kept playing their musical instruments, instead of looking at Tarja to ask themselves "why did she stop singing?" and then go beat the perp over the head with them, like they should have done! Toumas didn't do himself any favors by sitting next to Tarja on the plane several weeks later between her and the isle, and then start an argument with her. If he tried that shit with a female singer in Texas where I live;.... he wouldn't exactly be able to play his piano with a fast tempo the next few weeks. And with Floor being six feet Floor 😆; I'm sure he isn't eager to start such confrontations with her like he did Tarja and Anette. 😆
