Everything the brother said was so relatable. I grew up learning about Christianity and the trinity, and quickly became atheist. I became a nihilist, although I didn’t know the word, at 12. To save myself from the depression that this way of thinking brought, I gave myself false purpose like the brother said, becoming an animals rights activist, environmentalist etc. And after my first philosophy course I started questioning where did we come from and how it was possible that we came from nothing. I thought, well ultimately, we must have come from something that always existed, that is independent, etc… And I thought whats an appropriate name for this entity? and it clicked in my mind that this is what people meant by God. And that if we were to call anything God, it should be this entity. Not some magical man in the sky as Christians depicted it to me as a child. I felt so stupid that this whole time I never understood this. But I prayed to God for guidance, to find the truth, and Alhamdulillah after studying I found Islam, and converting was the best decision I ever made.

Again, I find brother Yusuf very relatable in everything he said. The only thing I disagree with him here, is that IF atheism is true then it should be irrelevant. Imo atheism renders everything pointless in the end. Like, Why would truth even relevant if we are just a bunch of atoms that happens to form a functioning unit, especially when everything will end the same way anyway? In that scenario why truth matters at all? For all I know you can live delusionally, religiously, truthfully it won't make any different in the end. You'll still end up as nothing and its just matter of time before the memory of your existence disappear. So why should people care to live truthfully if atheism is true?

I guess what he said would apply if nihilist value truth, which they probably do, since they are nihilists 😅
