I was a chef in a 5 star hotel and it is true.. 100s of Kgs of leftover food is dumped off everyday.. I used to hate it.. It could be served to the staff cafeteria and even to poor homeless people.. But they decide to throw it away... Its sad

Let me share a mini story... I was at a highway dhaba at morning 🌅. Took a few mins break n about to drive off.. A beggar came with her child of 2years hugged tight around her waist n stood in front of my car.... Normally i give a coin or so depending on the intentions of the beggar, ie the need n intense purpose of the action. ... I gave that coin instead of her mother to her baby boy, the price of the smile on the boy's face was priceless, smile ... I waited to see his reaction n left for destination 😊

In some places it is illegal to actually give leftovers to poor people as it becomes poisoned if left for a long time and the owner of the restaurant can be put up in jail . That is why a lot of buisnesses throw it out .But some people don't care if it's poisoned or anything it's food and they eat it because they are starving for days and they can loose their lives due to that food so please make sure the leftovers aren't poisoned

Actually I tried giving some extra money to a hotel and requested to provide food to some people who cannot afford to buy, but hotel people do not accept. Like foreign countries here also people can initiate such a practice I feel.
