We all like to think that we can lie, but it is very difficult to get away with it all the time, and some people just have a sixth sense ...so give them zero clues Obviously hairball doesn't agree with this, but he just lost 400k, partly because he opened his big fat mouth and tried to be cheeky

I saw Helmuth do the same thing. He bluffed the pot before and showed. Next hand an amateur called him down with 2nd pair. Helmuth had nothing. Helmuth went ballistic and said how can this stupid donkey call me down with 2nd pair? The other pro's at the table said well maybe because you showed your bluff the hand before.

I’m just a recreational player, but the way Nik was betting and acting-he wasn’t betting to grow the pot and win more-it was quite obvious to me that he was just betting to get the guy to fold-which would indicate that he has a weak hand. Nik didn’t look comfortable at any moment in the hand.

His name is AIRBALL & he wonders why he gets called...bluffing a billionaire...on a draw heavy board...with no blockers...while taunting his opponent (you taunt when you want a call)...overbetting the turn AND the river (you overbet when you want to represent a bluff, i.e. you're not bluffing but want your opponent to think you are)...when the draws hit the turn AND the board pairs on the river...after getting "called on every hand"...WTF?!

I know it's easy to sit here and say this, but I actually don't see this as a particularly tough call. If you're going to sit down with Airball, you can never fold here. Variance will be crazy, but in the long run, you print money.

Soon as he said that he's been bluffing all night and mathmatically he has to have it one time was a last ditch subliminal effort to get him to fold since Nick knows his image well enough that if someone tanks long enough vs him it favors a call and they are just trying to justify following through with the call. This is also followed by the uncomfortable physical tell with putting his hoodie front pockets for "comfort"

I know it's an unwritten rule not to look at other people's hands, but if I can see your hand, I'll tell you to protect your cards, and that I can see your hand. I look at people's cards for tells, not to actually see the hand. If you can't protect your cards, don't play poker.

Nik can't be all that shocked. You can't play as wide and bluff as often as he does and still be surprised at hero calls after all this time unless you're an idiot. "i know what you have". Yes Nick. Whole table knows he has AJ and there is the problem. Question is do you bet for value against AJ with x2 pot. See how amazed you are bcs he called. He called bcs its obv you dont want him to call. Betting 160 in 80 against AJ is not something you balance, not ever. You never gonna provoke someone into hero calling with 2nd pair. You polarize with nuts against strong range not against middle pair.
