On the matter of bands doing softer/radio/dad rock I think as long as they don't change completely and ONLY do that from then all, it's a good thing. It expands their audience, it acts as a stepping stone/gateway into heavier music then a person may normally listen to (like my self, I've been slowly getting into heavier music) And you don't have to like every single thing a band puts out and that's OK. It's 2023 streaming platforms let you make a playlist for free. It's not like it was were you'd listen to an album and have to stop and skip a song or put up with it and let it play.
