I own 5 pairs of the Nike Epic React Flyknit 2, which is the 2019 React flagship shoe. This Pegasus 37 is the standard shoe issued to high school and college athletes, but I will guess that it wears out faster compared to the Reacts.

The Peg 27 used to be cush and less speed oriented, and has been put on a diet ever since. This is just a version that goes back to the original Peg it seems... Only hoping it's not too Vomerjykes. 🙂

I've only done the one 10k run in the Peg 37's so far but I do already like how they feel - Cushioned yet you feel a bit of energy return, and easy to pick up speed in compared to the structured shoes I tend to wear most of the time. I wasn't keen on the shallow heel but with firm lacing it's all good. A fairly comfy shoe which didn't cause any niggles for middle distance.

I think the Pegasus is going to become the more cushioned shoe like how the vomero, but with a little less cushion and the peg turbo becomes the in between shoe like the previous peg models, but with a little less cushion

after all the hype I decided to get a pair of nike's I went to the shoe store to try on the peg 37. they slipped out of the heal cup and was narrow in the toe box. so I decided to get them custom made for me. after 2 weeks they arrived. I have worn them several times and used different methods to tie my shoes. Even though I had order a wide version they still felt too narrow in the toe box and I wish I had ordered the extra wide version. the heal still slips in and out still and I feel like this shoe will never make my shoe rotation. I love my fuel cell rebel, kinvara 11, truimp 17, and Clifton 6 they fit great out the box the first time and inspires me to run for miles.

Got these my 3rd pair of pegasus had 35 and 36s. I have a high arch and a wide foot but wear standard width on all shoes. The Pegasus is the most fickle of all my running shoes (brooks ghost, brooks gylcerine and saucony triumph) in regards to tying them. If I do just a tad too tight they hurt my feet while running. I may be borderline on the width not sure the 36s weren't near as bad as the 37s in this regard the 35s were really bad about it. I think Nike are just a bit too narrow, even though I love them.

I think as a great all round running shoe it'll hit the mark, really looking forward to it. Nike have so many trainers and I now have about 3 shoes on rotation instead of just 1 pair...and I keep getting fed up that they don't quite do what I expect (peg Turbo 2) and it's costing me a lot...but unless I'm racing and fully fit, I just wear my Pegasus. For short runs, fast runs, long runs...allows me to vary my pace and the surface as I choose. It's a great shoe and I just sometimes want that extra bit of cushion- especially as I used to wear the Vomero.

For me it’s still a speedy side of shoes. The Pegasus has always been a firmer more responsive ride and really should have stayed that way. The 37 is heavier almost 1.5 oz more that’s crazy. and for the stack hight I’ve heard mixed things about the heel stack hight is 35mm? The peg 36 was a bit unstable at slower speeds and mainly great for long tempos/intervals. I also don’t understand why invest so much money in time into the Vomero 14. Just to take it away a year later. I think lightweight (minimal) shoes need to on the market. And to bad the turbo is going away. Not sure what Nike is doing to be honest. The react miler was a complete joke.

Heel Slippage and lack of arch support. I love my previous pegasuses but just not this one. I am pretty sure Nike hides some of the negative reviews on their website.

I have these shoes. I am a runner in 36' on 10km, and I do not see myself running a 10 with, or even a semi: they are not made to go fast. On slow gaits (jogging, EF) up to gaits approaching 4'00 ~ 4'15 per kilo, nickel: good energy return, optimal comfort. But beyond these speeds, we feel constrained at the level of the stride, the sole seems to play more against us than with us, hence a feeling of too much energy expenditure. I wonder what the "Turbo" version of this Pegasus 37 is worth at this level suddenly ... Maybe it is more versatile and therefore quite simply a much better choice.

Too much cushion...and yes, Clunkier. I have run in these for a month straight, 7 days a week. Feels like it has a huge stack height. Look at your ankles in this video of you guys running....best to have slightly more ground feel. I have been running in the Peg for 4 models now. Heel slippage in this one and nice wider toe box.

BTW: I really liked this style of this review which is a mix of the two parts of your usual videos (the main review and post review... review). It sounds less scripted, which is great, but maybe you can structure what you have to say about different aspects of the shoe earlier in order to make the video shorter and more concise.

If the purpose is for a cushioned trainer, I think the NovaBlast edges it for me, but versatility I think the Pegasus takes it. If you can only have one shoe between the two, the Pegasus, for $10 less, is a winner

Wide always stands for stronger heel and not wider forefoot only. But there are different lasts depending on Pro or non-Pro. Ultra or Non-Ultra-Last etc.. If a shoe ist made like adidas SL 72 or SL 80 you should keep it tight. If you can keep it tight. At both you use a narrow last, as the forefoot can be adapted by suede-leather on-top of a stamped/cut-out layers of EVA-midsole (Originals that time were layers of TPU). Injected midsoles always frame the forefoot and you need to select a Model with right Last or need to go 1/2 size up, which is not realy making it better. If you can, keep it tight. Yes (we) adidas can. Yes (we) somebody still can. Shoes like adidas SL 72 and SL 80 were knocked out of the game by Nike and Reebok with injected midsoles and over-engineered cushioning. Just Asics followed up a more conplex midsoles fit together by more complex cut-out TPU/EVA-foam-Layers. To make ist less expensive Asics transfered to Asics-Gel and lost the Anti-Vibration on a high level. Brooks Newtonian Fluid offers Not a high level of Anti-Vibration and the Opal-Elements at Salomon Vibe are eliminated/Not present at Opti Vibe. If a step Forward incl. a step backwards it's nothing for the Chronic of real Innovation in Sportswear. As Nike Air is flimsy compared to Zoom-Air and that lost against Zoom X or react (Wildhorse 6) even Zoom X will be No Game-Changer. Monitor the different characteristics at the flex of pebax (Nike react and Zoom X) vs. Nike Phylon (EVA), adidas Lightstrike (EVA), Sketchers Hyperburst (Nitrogenized EVA), BOOST Orig., BOOST Lite at the adidas Sub2 and Reebok Floatride (pebax). Widest spectrum of midsole-foams injected and beads-based offers Saucony. They even offer pebax-beads-based midsoles. I can tell the Same like Saucony. Injected pebax has Durability issues you can experience. beads-based midsoles offer more Durabilityand that incl. loosing performance over longer distances. The Carbonplate is concealing the disadvantage of any injected pebax-foams. The one say Reebok floatride ist beads-based the other declare it as injected. Floatride is more durable than Nike react and Nike Zoom X. Reducing foot fatigue Like in case of Alphafly and Vaporfly only is Not changing the Game if the Athlet runs into other foot-problems like issues with the plantar fascitiis. Furthermore with Nike's Carbonplate-Models you can Not keep Turns tight, you Just can Run fast on straights. But it is Not the Lockheed Blackbird XR-71 under the Marathon shoes. It will fall deep and not worth to keep blueprints of it. First shoes with Carbonplate were Porsche-adidas years before Nike. The Alphafly Zoom-Air-Blades are copied from adidas Springblade. Hoka One and Sketchers Split or shape the Carbonplate at the forefoot. This copied seperaten Blades of adidas Springblade. Proof-of-Concept in all cases done by adidas.

Great video! I’ve always read about transitioning from traditional running shoes to minimals but I am in the opposite situation. I received a Nike Pegasus 37 as a gift and for the first time in more than a decade, I’ve tried wearing a traditional running shoe. My usuals are minimalist shoes and my thickest shoe would be the Nike Free 5.0. Having used the Pegasus for a few times, I’ve noticed heel discomfort on one foot. I’m not sure if it’s coincidence, or my foot not being used to the large stack height and drop of the shoe. Any thoughts on this?
