Nike SB | Air Jordan 4

Released in 1989, the Air Jordan 4 took flight with Tinker Hatfield’s design chops and our own Sandy Bodecker's help at the helm. Introducing new materials to the courts and evolved tech for breathability, the AJ4 continued the franchise’s cutting design and luxury-influenced aesthetics. Like the man himself, the run remained flawless and the Air Jordan 4 instantly became an icon. Beloved by many for its undeniable style and comfort, the original Air Jordan 4’s design became a perpetual “what if” for skateboarders looking for a performance shoe that stepped up to the progression of a revolutionary era. In 2023, the circle is complete.

My shop actually did it, we had a 6" Ollie challenge for all our SB releases so resellers would have to hit resale themselves, and once they got inside and seen the sign alot fucked off, prolly didn't think it was worth trying for 4s when they ankles on the line

Was lucky enough to get a pair and compared with my other AJ4 these have definitely been improved on for skateboarding with the higher mudguard, no air unit in the forefoot and specific padding around the achilles to lock your foot into the sneaker better. I'm definitely going to be skating in them and love that my love for skateboarding culture and Air Jordan sneaker culture have combined to create this silhouette.

@@hinata750 I don’t really know why they bother with the advertising tbh. They don’t need to try and convince people that 4’s are good to skate in to justify doing a SB crossover. They could just release them and they will sell. But although 4’s are not a bad shoe to skate (if you think back, lots of skate shoes in the 90’s were quite chunky), people who buy them probably won’t skate them because they are expensive and also lots of resellers and collectors. So yeah I agree with you that they’re wasting their time with a fairytale narrative, but I don’t think the 4 is a bad shoe to skate in principle. However, from a financial perspective, skating these wouldn’t make much sense 😄
