This is the GOAT Nike tennis shoe. None of that lateral flange BS, a proper tongue, and no break in period. I still have some 2015 examples.

It's classic since federer leave nike, they stop making nice shoes, this line of vapor 9.5 was the last treasu of nike however you like tennis, federer or not. You can enjoy this sneakers for walking playing or have fun This shoes are master class

Tried these and returned em. Soles were too stiff; felt like ski boots. Exchanged em for the Vapor 11s, and dont regret it.

I have no idea what Nike and Adidas are doing these days but all their shoes are garbage and the ones they had that were well-designed (i.e. Adidas Solecourt Boost and Nike GP Turbo) they discontinue after a couple years. It feels like the larger athletic shoe companies are putting all their time and money into the design of basketball shoes these days and ignoring the tennis market - except for smaller tennis focused companies like Babolat, Diadora, Lotto, and K-Swiss.

I don't know Nike, but adidas has the following priorities: Soccer worldwide, Basketball mostly in the USA but also Europe, Running and Training. Assume Nike is similar. So that's where you'll see the heavy investment and unfortunately for tennis fans the category is just a control and maintain, if anything.

i bought a pair right away. The 9.5's are some of my favorite (I still remember the vapor tour 2's, 3's...). I went through 10's, they were decent also. The latest vapor pro (end of last year?) is ok walk-around shoe but not really good enough on the court for me... lacing doesn't hold the foot in that great and top is sort of too un-substantial to hold the foot well in place. I have flat feet and need more upper foot support than they provide for tennis lateral movement and also front to back (such as approaching the net). Was happy to get a pair of the re-release, I hope they do it more often.

The durometer readings are obviously not worth paying attention to if you say it’s “way off the charts”, because the outsole durability of these shoes is terrible

Thats by far my favorite Vapor model, although I was always Rafa models fan. Only complaint is my last pair of those that is special edition RF US open teal color way which I was saving for collectibility just fell apart 😭 all the bottom sole and guard components got dis attached and I’m still trying to glue it together but every time I think I’m done something else breaks off. Poor quality control on Nike that year but I’m gonna save them Look out for Vapor 9.5 x AJ3 release next week!!! Would love Dr Zach to review those !!!

Have you worn the Vapors? The glue falls apart for deadstock shoes because wearing them helps the glue set in.
