Nike Vomero 5 vs New Balance 2002r
Nike's Vomero 5 was originally released in 2011 and is currently on the Nike Vomero 16 model in 2023. 2022 saw a rise in the retro model bringing a lot of new fans into this year. Current prices on Nike Vomero 5 $160

New Balance's 2002r originally came out in 2010 as a follow up to the New Balance 2001. The original 2002R had a $250 price tag. However the 2022 and current version of the 2002R has midsole of the 860V2 from 2012. Current Price of the New Balance 2002R are $140-$160

Nike Vomero 5 has more mesh, is softer on feet with Zoom air and cushlon underfoot and lighter as well. Has a more sporty look and feet IMO.
New Balance 2002R has more suede and leather, more of a traditional cut and sew look with some mesh.
The cushioning is firmer with the ABZORB midsole and Nrgy cushioning, however they are comfortable as well and have more support and traction.

As someone who has both. Vomero 5s are a great Nike sneaker and they pop more depending on the colorway. However I don’t think they’re more comfortable at all. The 2002R beats the Vomero in comfort and quality everyday. I can wear the 2002R all day but the Vomeros start to hurt my feel after awhile

Wouldn’t the 1906r be a more direct comparison, certainly in my eyes the 1906 and vomero look very similar with their plastic heel cup and mesh uppers.

I recently got my first pair of Vomero 5s, and I have to say they are awesome. Super soft shoes tend to make my arches hurt. These are comfortable all day. And the different patterns and such are rad. I wasn't a fan when I saw images, but in hand and on foot, I"m a convert. Pick up a pair.
