Great review as always guys this is my favourite shoe of all time I've got the blue roundel collab pair and a purple and gold GR! Shame they've removed the polyurethane insole as the 2016/17 run of them had those. Interestingly you can actually see where the tooling is from it's from the 1996 zoom alpha and even early mock ups of the presto had a similar tooling. But you can find pictures of the bare zoom unit online it's very alien looking!

Spiridon fan over here. This shoe reminds me of high school. As much as I love the air max 97s, I've always preferred the spiridon. If I wasn't tapped out from Christmas shopping I would consider getting these. And yeah, I'm in the negatives when I try wrapping gifts.

@@angel_angel_1998Definitely. Midsole cushioning is more stable but the extra thick dreamcell insole makes a world of difference. I’d compare them to an ASICS Gel-Kayano 14.

Thanks Christian Trescherer lol. Excited for these. My wrapping skill is just above 0 and well below 1 if on the scale of 1 to 10. Looks like Dr. Frankenstein created wrapped gifts rather than a monster. Apparently people are supposed to use 1 piece of tape. I need a new tape dispenser per gift. I’ve even given up and just used trash bags. No garbage inside, just thoughtful gifts.

I literally still have my 2016 pair that are close to deadstock. I got them on sale at Jimmy Jazz for only $40. Easily one of my favorite sneakers of all time. One of the lightest sneakers that I’ve ever owned. Still can’t believe i got them for $40 in 2016.

Caged Zoom is very interesting. it's essentially the closest thing to articulated Zoom Air today, and the fact Nike brought it back is insane given that they would probably give it a standard full-length one today, but they didn't! QotD answer: Probably 5. I've never done it, but who knows?

Nike must have changed the last because both my Fragments AND these OGs fit big. 😡 Anyone looking to swap a 12.5 for a 13, hit me up! 🤦‍♂️ Gotta disagree with Chris on fit here, maybe for the first time ever. I too like a snug fit but with Spiridons I go up half a size and that’s with a narrow foot! I have 8 pair, 2 of which are true to size and those I have to go without socks. For context… Air Max 1, 97, & 98 = size 12.5 Air Max 90 & 95 = size 13

QOTD: My gift wrapping skills rate a good solid 9. All I'm missing is a gigantic craft room with the rolls mounted to cutters like Martha Stewart. Otherwise, I got it. I love the Air Zoom Spiridon so much. The design is iconic, and I'd put it up there among the top Nike designs of all time. It's remarkably sleek and minimalist compared to other training shoes from 1997--the tongue isn't tall and it sits lower on your heel and around the ankle as well. It was an accurate prediction of the shape of running shoe uppers from the present. The chambered Zoom Air feels really great from a comfort standpoint. My only complaint about this type of Zoom Air, Reebok's DMX, and any other "when it compresses here it goes there" type of cushioning is that it really doesn't feel stable, and looking at that from a performance standpoint we can see why we don't have cushioning setups like this anymore. For just wearing, though, they still rock. I hope to find them on sale. Thanks for the video! Sorry I'm a day late with my engagement but we made it in the end. See you soon.

The Spiridon! I’m a big fan of the Stüssy Kukini/Spiridon hybrid which came out a few years back too. Wrapping rating all hinges on the present shape. Flat and square = 8. Raised cube = 6. Everything else = failure

I absolutely love the Spiridon! One of my all time fav shoes….my dad had that same original colorway when it first came out and I would steal em occasionally. Not my fault we wore the same size in ‘97 😂 The Talaria is the other one with that same awesome tooling….love those too but never owned one. As for the question of the day, I used to be decent at wrapping…learnt it from my mom, but I haven’t done it in a really long time and I just don’t care now 😅😂🤷🏽‍♂️ I cheat by using bags and tissue. LOVE THE BLOOPERS! I trip over the simplest words sometimes…..like opportunity….or just the other day, it was “disappointing”🤦🏽‍♂️🤣🤣 try massaging your jaw a bit….and also bite down on a pen/ pencil or whatever of similar form… gently and try reading whatever it is like normal a few times….then take the pen out and say it again…it should help with the pronunciation.
