Hi Niki, I love your paintings. The TLPs are gorgeous. Where did you get the stencils from? I have another question, does the British paint have an odour? I live in a unit and my dining room is my art room. Have a great day. Love from, Gina Mac of Queensland, Australia. 😊❤️🙏🇦🇺🐨🎨
@NikiDArt2 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! 😀💙 I honestly don't think it has an odour at all, to be safe you could always buy a white sample pot - 500ml for $8 just to see if you can smell it? The stencils were from Amazon I think? Hopefully they're listed in the description box of the video
@GinaMacArt2 жыл бұрын
Hi Niki, what is the full description of the wood canvases you? Do you ever have warping issues? I bought an 18" round, 17mm thick, pine board to make a clock. I taped it, gessoed it, and then did a bloom. The next morning I discovered it had warped. Am I using the wrong kind of boards? You maybe aware of them as they sell them at Bunnings. What can I do to stop the warping? I loved both your pieces in this video and can't wait to get some TLPs. 😊❤🙏🇦🇺🐨
@NikiDArt2 жыл бұрын
Yes I've seen a lot of people say pine warps, especially the bunnings ones. MDF is the best as long as it's 9mm or more it shouldn't warp. Gesso won't stop wood warping as it's only a 'tooth' for canvases. To seal wood you either need water based wood primer or to varnish it so it's fully sealed (top, edges and back. MDF is different as long as it's thick, www.fluid-art.co now sell MDF rounds ready to pour. This one I used was a table mat from Kmart (15") the ones with a glossy marble finish on top - they're thin but don't warp. I also use the thicker grey ones that look like a wood grain

Which one, the first or second? Either can ve find on larger canvases, the fursr one I've done before on a 24" and the second style I've done on a 20" but it would work on a larger too

I'm having difficulty with the consistency of the cell activator. It doesn't flow off the stick right. I did the paper test and the consistency is good it just doesn't drizzle off the stir stick. Weird
@NikiDArt2 жыл бұрын
Do you hold the stir stick a few inches above the cup Phillip?
@TheGreenKnight702 жыл бұрын
@@NikiDArt I probably should have mentioned I am using the American floetrol and wood conditioner recipe. I think the wood conditioner is making the paint cling to the stick preventing it from flowing. Perhaps when using wood conditioner a plastic stir is key.
