I totally understand your logic with tanning beds helping with seasonal depression, but just know that going in a tanning bed just one time before age 35 increases your risk of developing life-threatening melanoma by 75% (I'm a biomedical science student who works with the Canadian Skin Cance Foundation)!! Highly recommend finding a vitamin D vitamin that works for you to take in the winter or taking a few intentional weekend trips somewhere warm for seasonal depression!! Love you Niki ❤️

Plus most cute things on there are like 20 dollars where shein is usually must cheaper and affordable. If they don’t wear them then that is annoying though.

I was even shocked that artificial tanning for an artificial skin colour was something in existence..Like the sun is already a liability for skin cancer and imagine laying in a cancerous bed for beauty purposes and walking in the sun right after that procedure all for a bunch of strangers online who watch you..There is no such thing as a white tanning salon for Black people so the fact that there is something like that for white people to get tanned skin like coloured women is even more weird and strange smh..

I love watching videos like this because it’s a reminder to prioritize “self care/self maintenance” -when I put in the work to make myself look nice (not sweatpants, a little bit of makeup) I do notice a difference in how I carry myself. I just had a baby, and a week before giving birth I went to a salon to update my hair and I feel so much better about my body and how I look as a result. Might get my nails done in a few weeks to treat myself!

important fyi: tanning beds do NOT help seasonal depression. more info: light therapy, an effective treatment for SAD, acts through the eyes and relies on visible light, whereas the dangerous UV radiation emitted by tanning beds is invisible light.

As a woman who is a bit older than you…stay far away from a tanning bed! You’re going to really regret it when you’re a little older because it’s going to age your skin eventually, even if you do it a few times a year. 😱 you look pretty without it, I promise. Niki!! I know you said you don't tan in tanning beds often, but I just wanted to let you know. You can't use that lotion before going in a spray tan because it's a bronzer lotion. There are specific tanning lotions made for cocktail tanning. If you use a bronzer lotion before you get a spray tan it can actually cause the bronzers in your spray tan to not sink into your skin evenly because there is a barrier. Your spray tan looks beautiful, but I just wanted to let you know this so that you can get even better results. I've worked at a tanning salon for 5 years so that's how I know this.
