I am totally inspired. I did hair and makeup when I was younger and I didn't go ahead with it because I was told that I couldn't get money out of it for a living so I changed careers but for some reason I keep going back to doing hair and makeup and now I'm just not sure whether I should stick with it. Sasja Parson you didn’t comprehend this well at all. She’s saying before she started doing hair that’s how she USED to look at it. Now she doesn’t think like that at all. And I know a lot of women who used to think like that and I used to be one of them. In high school I made extremely well grades and was planning to go to college and everything but I had certain friends who didn’t make good grades at all and were struggling just to get into a college. I heard them say all the time that they were just going to get their cosmetology license and do hair somewhere for money. Where I come from you go to cosmetology school or barber school where you have nothing else. It was like a last resort thing for people who didn’t do well in school. But I obviously don’t think like that now. I realized that those friends that I had really loved doing hair and here I was, a black girl who can’t even cornrow for shit. They are all super talented. Doing hair is an art, and one of my friends till this day has her own beauty salon and gets tons of customers. She makes wayy more money then me lol. I realized you don’t need to go to a university to be successful. Some people are meant to be doctors or lawyers and some people are meant to be cosmetologist or nail technicians. Hair is a billion dollar industry someone is ALWAYS going to need their hair or nails done. If you’re super talented you cannot go broke in the industry.
