Lullaby of Birdland, that's what I Always hear when you sigh Never in my wordland Could there be ways to reveal In a phrase how I feel Have you ever heard two turtle doves Bill and coo when they love? That's the kind of magic Music we make with our lips when we kiss And there's a weepy old willow He really knows how to cry That's how I'd cry in my pillow If you should tell me farewell and goodbye Lullaby of Birdland whisper low Kiss me sweet and we'll go Flyin' high in Birdland High in the sky up above All because we're in love Lullaby, lullaby.... Have you ever heard two turtle doves Bill and coo when they love? That's the kind of magic Music we make with our lips when we kiss And there's a weepy old willow He really knows how to cry That's how I'd cry in my pillow If you should tell me farewell and goodbye Lullaby of Birdland whisper low Kiss me sweet and we'll go Flyin' high in Birdland High in the sky up above All because we're in love

@dilsanozcan34188 жыл бұрын
There is no space for vibrato to jazz. But yeah, she is great.

There is no such things: voice for jazz. This perfomance is not perfect. May be she was somehow constrained and worried. But there are some more video with Nikky and this admirable song on KZbin. See Raw Session for example. Artist's way neither is straightforward as "broadway" nor as lightweight as feather. It's a real life, man. Well, is your voice good enough to make people paid for it? ))

Your ear isn't for jazz.
@MrNB02311 жыл бұрын
Yea on an earlier clip, with her at the age of 14, she was way more attuned to the jazzfeel of singing. She's lost the feel of improvisation already here, it seems. She doesn't accentuate her singing besides a kind of gospel/soul-esc moaning in the voice which symbolizes every accent she makes. Nor does she use staccato rhytmic impressions quite as well. Shame to see someone slip from the path of jazz, but especially for the singers it's a difficult path.
@preckle2 жыл бұрын
I agree, she was better when she has younger. The band here are great but she doesn't sound very authentic.
@itsabe1111 жыл бұрын
Nice. But her voice is not for jazz.

Jazz is forever evolving. Otherwise it becomes like classical music, fit for museums. Her voice is perfect for modern jazz
