She is definitely a vocal prodigy and obviously well practiced. What's amazing is her ability to connect emotionally with songs far beyond her years. There are singers 3 times her age who have not yet learned to do what she does seemingly effortlessly. Amazing!

At age 14, Nikki's rendition of this song is one of the very best of all the others. She's amazing, her pitch is right on, her phrasing is personal, she FEELS right where to insert her vibrato, and although her voice is still a little thin, she puts such feeling (phenomenal for so young) into a GREAT arrangement. What POISE, what a TALENT! I heard Nikki perform this song at age 19 and it is still the best, even better. The way she enunciates her words and her apparent feeling in the song is remarkable for her years. I wish her the very best in all her future endeavors, she certainly deserves it! She is a rare musician!

@@nemo227 Nikki was once asked how she could sing some of the love songs she sings since she was too young to know "love lost" or the emotions of love. She said that sometimes she thinks of her dog when singing! I thought that was adorable!

I never get tired ..of watching this little girl so aptly belt out an adult song with all the poise and CONTROL in every aspect of it. She's now a long way past the 14-year-old girl she was then, but with this performance, she left NO doubt in anyone's mind that she was going to be a star performer! Brava, Nikki!

I have heard a lot of artists sing this great song in the past 4 years, since my first comment here, but Nikki still remains my favorite of everyone on this song! As a musician all my life, I know talent when I hear it and Nikki really has it! I don't know if she still enjoys performing this great song, but I hope so, and I hope she puts into it what she did at age 14!

Those who say she's average have to see the video when she sings Airmail Special in the style of Ella Fitzgerald. Oh man, she is unbelievable!!! I went to her concert yesterday, it was brilliant, true quality! It was worth the money, it was a great experience. I enjoyed it more than the Diana Krall concert last year.

The above is NOT from her concert release in dedication to the great Ella Fitzgerald, although she did that later on in her career, she was only about age 14 at the above rendition, (born 2-8-94) with an amazing stage presence for one so young. Truly a talent who went on to many more successful performances! (You can tell she did listen to Ella's version of this song though, as she sings it quite similarly to Ella!) Beautiful as can be, Nikki!

For those who think she was too young, then , look up her rendition of OLD MACDONALD. I like the fact that she included the introductory verse to the song, like some artists do, for instance, Tony Bennett usually includes the verse. I just learned of her existence this week, and listened to some songs from post-twenty year old era, and am soooo impressed. Hopefully she will have a long and productive career! :)

As a vocalist, I can't just sit back and hear people say she is average. For someone who was at the time 13 or 14, she has some DEEP talent in her pool, especially as far as most popular singers are concerned. Her voice is young and not mature enough but definitely from range, tone, and vocal agility, she is good. She does sing some songs too "big" for her so to say but still good. Anyone saying she is average will be sadly mistaken 2-4 years from now.
