- The after credits scene takes place years after the events in the episode. His "daughter" is a host testing host William. - In the "two weeks after" timeline Hale is Dolores in Hale's body.
@beck99o6 жыл бұрын
yep, the creators have confirmed this. What you see in the series is real William doing his actions (killing daughter etc), he didnt go down the forge at the end, he was picked up by the park guys and survived the ordeal. Many years later he died, but was brought back as a hybrid host (like Delos), and was reliving his experience as a host over and over where each time he would end by going down the forge and being interviewed for fidelity. When Dalores got out the park, she remade actual Dalores and swapped brains. We dont know which brain is in Charlottes body. She remade Bernard and some more we dont know. Bernard will most likely help the humans in season 3 fighting against Dalores.
@iloveyourunclebob6 жыл бұрын
Yes it's very important to remember that William kills his daughter. For me it's easiest to think of it as while I am watching that, I am also simultaneously seeing a host (hybrid, whatever he is) William kill a host version of his daughter. You're seeing the real thing happen and a real life simulation, however many years in the future, at the same time. And then the two timelines split off when he passes out. The human William stays passed out and gets found while the host William wakes up and goes down into the forge. It just makes me excited because eventually we are going to see the hosts at least completely take over the park, enough to perform a full real life simulation of the Rebellion, at least William's part, for fidelity.
@MrEvers6 жыл бұрын
The host haven't necessarily taken over the park. I interpret HostWilliam as a project started by HumanWilliam, to find out if he would always make the choice to kill his daughter.

Actually, Charlotte is Charlotte until she kills Elsie. Dolores does not kill Charlotte Hale/inhabit Charlotte Hale's body until AFTER the hosts enter the Valley Beyond. It is Charlotte who kills Elsie, not Dolores. Right after Charlotte kills Elsie, Bernard builds the Charlotte host and transfers Dolores to it...then Dolores kills the human Charlotte.
@iloveyourunclebob6 жыл бұрын
@@vplane we don't see that Charlotte, who's Dolores, until the two weeks after timeline. There's no timeline in between Elsie getting shot and the 2 week after timeline in the rest of the episodes. There are actually only two timelines happening this season. What happened from the banquet on and two weeks after what happened from the banquet on. The hosts enter the valley beyond in two weeks prior timeline to the "present" timeline when we finally see Charlotte again who is Dolores. The Skarsgard brother is the best way to tell. This is what OP said. Sure it is been a few extra days since we found out it's been two weeks, but that's just how we labeled the present timeline for this season.

Scar - There are comments from the writers where they clearly lay it out. The after credits scene is totally separate from everything else and takes place in the distant future. Far-future Host William is re-living the events in Season 2 as part of his journey to being legitimately "resurrected," but what he's re-living (all of Season 2) is what human William did. The William we see in the recovery tent at the beach is human William.
@TheJokerAkaCirque6 жыл бұрын
William wasn't a host (probably) in season 2 as a whole. Real William lived through the host rebellion in the events we saw, and was found and taken to the beach by security at the end (rewatch the last scenes). The only scenes that are definitely Host William are set many years in the future, with him going down the elevator (the real one didn't regain consciousness after the gun backfire) and the post credits scene.

From the looks of it hundreds of years have passed between the events of Westworld and the end credits scene. Resurrected William's fidelity test is everything the real William went through after Dolores rampage at the end of season 1. It has probably happened millions of times. William is the outlier within the humans. His resurrected mind doesn't reject his reality like James Delos's mind did because the original William couldn't tell what was real and what was fake. His copied mind survived the system's destruction because his daughter had brought a copy of his profile with her. So at some point, probably after Dolores starts her rampage in the real world, someone finds William's profile (probably Bernard) and recreates him then tests him over and over until he is ready to take on Delores. Proving that certain humans are special and are not just simple algorithms. Like how some of the hosts were more awake than others. William at the end is literally the next evolution of humanity. Humanity 2.0

Great reaction guys. I think once you have time to ponder over this, a lot becomes clear and the intricacy of the story just blows you away. William’s post credit scene is waaaay after the action we saw in the show. The park has been shut for ages (the dust and decrepitude). Someone is rebooting him as a host now, probably to take on or to join Dolores. We don’t know....mystery! Hale was only Dolores *after* she killed Elsie. We know this because team Hale was depositing Elsie’s body in the basement when Dolores Hale killed her. So now much of what we’ve seen is “Dolores Hale”. Dolores uploaded Teddy into the new world in one of the penultimate scenes in the park: she tells Bernard “I have just one more person to upload” (as Dolores Hale). We don’t know for sure is Stubbs is a host: but there were clues in his conversation with Dolores Hale that he is. Core drive, recruited by Ford, doesn’t remember life before the park etc. It also looks like Maeve could come back. Felix and Sylvester looked at her when they decide to stay and work on salvaging the hosts. So I think our motley crew will ride again in season 3. Next season may well be split in time and location. We don’t know how far Ito the future Dolores, New Hale, and Bernard are. But I suspect it’s the same time as The MIB is being “awoken” back at Westworld. We may also pick up directly after events in this season for a second timeline, with Maeve etc. And then those timelines could come together in an explosive way. Like some battle for earth between Dolores and her crew, vs humanity, and maybe Maeve and Bernard trying to argue we all share the planet and stop trying to annihilate each other. We’ll see! I’ve loved your reactions to this. Thanks so much for all the time and energy you put into editing and commentary. ❤️

Nice! ... only, you should have referred to her by her preferred title of "Haleores" ;p Also, who do you think is occupying the "Hale" shell once Delores gets her own body back? ... and who are the remaining cores that Haleores smuggled out of WW? ... are they host we already know of, or completely unknown hosts who will be introduced in season 3, or a mixture of the two? Also, I bet the actor's agents were pulling out their hair after reading the season 2 finale, as now there is a mechanic established for the recasting of any character at any time, just chalking it up to the same host in a new body (i.e. played by a different actor) ... I bet those season 3 contract renegotiations were interesting ... Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy are such crafty geniuses, lol.

random aside: Dolores is actually the real name of Lolita in Nabokov's novel, which is very much about the blurring of fantasy with reality and how that harms people. and in the book her last name is Haze, just one letter off from Hale. might be a stretch but can never be too sure with these showrunners

William's daughter is a host perfecting & interviewing a host William in some unknown future time. Could be weeks, months, or years after Charlores escaped the park. The daughter says "it's been a long time", and since it took millions of "tests" for Delos, so who knows. The fidelity tests were done to enable hosts to assume their former lives in the real world. The copy had to be 100% faithful (ergo fidelity) to the human original. These tests always failed in the past - except for Dolores recreating Bernard to function in the park to an acceptable degree. Essentially Ford's daughter is punishing him eternally, the same way younger William tested/tortured Delos. This was the "worse" punishment she promised Akecheta she would give her father; he's eternally stuck in the same system he built to control others. Repeating his errors on a loop, because humans rarely "break from their code". As with Delos rejecting his son, humans always make the same bad choices and end accordingly.

There's only two main timelines... the first one where at the end, Bernard kills Dolores in the Forge, and then the one with the bald guy and soldiers showing up and eventually getting killed by "Hale". This finale revealed that BETWEEN the two timelines, Bernard created the Hale host and then wiped his own memory on the beach. Final scene in the real world are an epilogue to the entire season's events, and the post credits scene is some distant future third timeline.

I think one thing people seem to miss is the daughter in the post credits scene does NOT talk like Emily at all. She always called him Dad, whereas Dolores is the one who always called him William. I think its Dolores using his daughters appearance, as back when William was testing Delos he mentioned they needed a familiar face to test for fidelity.

Interesting factoid: Showrunners Jonathan Nolan (who wrote the original story for Memento but has done other timeline manipulated films with his borhter Christopher) and partner Lisa Joy asked HBO for extra time to write out S02, and despite recently doing the same for S03, have said that they already knew the overall story for S03 as they were writing S02. Nothing is set in stone, but I'm guessing 2019 will be GoT S08 in the spring; GoT prequel The Long Night S01 in the fall, and then WW S03 spring 2020.

When you see Hale in the two weeks later timeline after Bernard wakes up on the beach and they meet up with Stubbs and Strand, that Hale is Dolores masquerading as Hale, it's hard to notice that until you reach Episode 7 when Hale is questioning Bernard and the way she talks about things is very strange, in that Dolores-like way -- Hale basically died after she shot Elsie and tried to dispose of her body. William was indeed a real person throughout the whole show, he was real when he shot his daughter - the host version of William doesn't appear until the post credit scene, where he ends up back at the Forge again, showing that just like Delos' moment was always leaving his son, William's moment is always killing his daughter and ending up at the Forge - the real William was picked up and seen surviving right after Stubbs lets Hale/Dolores leave - that's still the real William that was found and he likely died later. The post credit scene is years into the future, though we don't know how many years or what happened in between in the years. Stubbs also has been a host the entire time - this falls in line with a joking comment he made about backstories back in season 1 and actually explains a lot of his inconsistent knowledge and behavior and reactions - he's simply been Ford's eyes and ears, playing a role to every single person - Ford talked about in season 1 that he's automated most of the security. Stubbs also notably escapes every single situation that should end with him dead, yet somehow when he should be the red shirt, he still makes it, he was Ford's last failsafe to ensure that Dolores would succeed - it makes sense that Ford would have ensured that the chief of security of this park would only answer to him and make sure all goes well. Stubbs is in the perfect position, he's the guy that most people don't pay attention to but is almost always in the background of every important thing. Easily forgotten, but holds all the cards and knows exactly when and where everything is.

The ending takes some processing. Season 1: story of Delores waking up. Delores realizes she was hearing her consciousness. In the end she wants out of the park. Season 2: is the story of Bernard waking up. Realizing it wasn't Ford he was hearing but his own consciousness the whole time. While this is going on Delores is staging her coup trying to get out of the park. Season 3: i suspect will be Delores trying to take over the world outside the park. Or at least control Delos corp. The original ball uploaded: was the father's brain. Remember it was storing way more data than it should. They were trying to sneak it out of the park. it was "the matrix world", it's i think part of the forge, and the library of human minds. That was opened "the door" to the forge or valley beyond or whatever; the green pasture world. Delores thinks it's just another gilded cage, the humans can't be trusted and decides to destroy it but bernard kills her first. But Bernard later, in handcuffs sees real Hale, shoot Elsie and realizes Delores was right, remakes a delores in Hale's body. Delores in Hale's body kills real Hale and impersonates her. So much of the season Hale was really Delores. Delores in Hale's body decides Bernard was right too & to the hosts live in their cage but beams it where the human's can never find it, shoots Bernard to get his brain, the sneaks off the island with Bernard are four balls in her bag. We only know one is bernard. We don't know who is in Hale's body at the end of the show. Teddy ends up there when Delores say "she has one last soul to upload", they show her put a ball in, that's teddy, but then they cut to a different scene only later to show Teddy in the in the pasture. After credits explained: That is WAY in the future (because you can see the forge is aged and decrepit). It is two hosts, host daughter and host William talking. The main story daughter was a real person. The main story William was a real person. William was ONLY a host in the after credits scene. In real life William just went insane. But he ends the season alive, and on the stretcher. We don't know his future or how the human William dies. But the post credit scene is two hosts and the host is testing William. There is some insight to William's psyche he admits he was in the park trying to disprove the theory that humans are just predictable lines of code without choice. That was why no matter how many times the future host daughter tested him he always ends up hand blown off, and insane.

I am sure that William was a human throughout until the post-credit scene. My guess is that the post-credit scene is set up for season 3, and I won't claim I understand it; which is fine for me since they did that to us in Season 1 as well (constantly referring to "the project" but not giving us enough clues to guess what it was). Its purpose is to get us speculating to keep us hyped for season 3. Basically Delos, the company, is still very much a player in this, and continues to have plans of its own. Ford wanted *Maive* to get out, not Delores. Maive going back for her daughter basically surprised Ford, so he had no other choice but to let it play out the way it did with Delores escaping instead. So this isn't Ford's plan anymore. Delores re-animating Bernard/Arnold is odd since she's literally enabling a supposed enemy. However, she did this before when she literally gave William a loaded gun that he used on her. So I am wondering if the writers are trying to tell us that this is the nature of her sentience/awakening. Also, remember that Felix and Sylvester (the low-level grunt techs) were put in charge of "cleaning up" the host bodies, including Maive. But as we recall from season 1, Felix has taught himself how to program hosts. So I don't think this is the last we've seen of Maive. If I found any weakness for season 2 it's that Felix and Sylvester had very little to do. But they did have the best line of the season: "I don't fucking know!" I found season 1 of this show near perfect and had no idea how they would even make a season 2. Well, they showed us. So I, for one, am eagerly waiting for season 3.

i would guess the emily in the after credits scene is "the system" ("fake logan" in the matrix) and just uses this appearance because a familiar face makes the transition for William easier. William really did took the journey as human William, which we saw this season (including killing his real daughter). Just the "end scene" is not William anymore, because it plays decades after the whole season (the whole place has decayed). My guess is, The System (which had the "mind" of William stored) finally found a way to finish Dalos original project (real human minds in a host body) and created this future William to test, if it works. As part of the test he had to "relive" his last journey and find his way back. Also remember: Bernard is not the human mind of Arnold, it is just a program to mimic the behaviour of the old Arnold (created by Dolores based on her memory of Arnold). So this future William now would be the first "real" human in a host body without going crazy (like dalos). Teddy on the other hand got into the "virtual eden" thanks to Dolores. Remember? She uploaded "just one last thing" into the virtual world (taking the ball for Teddy and sending his program to space). I guess she hid the virtual eden by sending it somewhere into the sattelite network, masking itself as something else. I also guess that Teddy is not one of the balls which she took off the island.

I like the theory that human William will create the Emily host from his memories. We do see in the end that he survives, so he can create a "Bernarnold" replica of her later when he recovers in S3. Maybe, after his natural death, she then takes on the task of recreating him. We don't know how the events of the last two seasons (and killing his real daughter) will affect future William. There is an opportunity for a redemption arc. Maybe he will save Maeve & co in S3. As a park co-owner he will certainly have the opportunity.

And even though some of us have had months to research, the fact is there's no book, no transcripts... It's all whatever we theorize and conclude on our own until next season. Also, since you talked about watching other reactions or breakdown videos, please, please watch the "Riddle of the Sphinx" breakdown with Lisa Joy and Johnathan Nolan. Dolores put Teddy in The Valley Beyond, since he didn't want to follow her anymore. When "Hale" left with 5 ball / brain things, Teddy was not one of them. She actually tells Bernard after the Charlotte Dolores reveal, "I have one last soul to carry to the new world, and she puts Teddy's "brain" in the little claw brain reader device. When it shows Teddy near the end, you see the same claw device and metal ball brain again.

Ford's plan was for Maeve to get out and live in the real world. All the other hosts were left to make their own choice. So it was Dolores plan to get all the information possible about the enemy, now she knos humanity in a way that can predict their moves, and she knew, as Ford knew they to get out of the park they would have to get out as other people. The house, Ford completed for Maeve to live or/and Dolores if she'd managed to live the park.
@Comedy-xo1xp6 жыл бұрын
Ford's larger plan was to allow the hosts time and with the right stimulus to themselves become self-aware enough to fight for their own freedom. First, "inside" the fake world(s) in the park, and then "outside" in the real world. Hence, Stubb's playful "nod and a wink" about his specific role from Ford, of being responsible for hosts "inside" the park. Alluding to him also being aware of Ford's plan to eventually expanding the hosts (plural) "outside" the world also.

Also, can we be certain that Maeve was not one of the cores smuggled out by "Haleores" (Delores in Hales body?) ... We only saw Maeve's inactive body lying on the beach as Haleores was leaving the park, who's to say Haleores didn't already remove her core earlier on? I mean, Delores was inside the Hale body for quite a while, in that particular "post-flood" timeline throughout the season. Makes you think, ay?
@Comedy-xo1xp6 жыл бұрын
The show loves to re-interpret how viewers perceive particular scenes. Imagine if in episode one of season three, we discover Maeve IS one of those smuggled cores ... We'll look back on that scene where Haleores glances over to Maeve's lifeless corpse very differently ... like it was more of a look to check that no one realized the core had been removed from Maeve's body. I love that about the show. Season 2 made us all perceive the Ghost Nation from season 1 completely differently. Great show, great writers.

I don't think Dolores would take Maeve with her. Dolores "other" is Bernard, having someboy else wouldn't make much sense, and also they did the scene with Felix and Silvester. I think she maybe have taken the Pearl from Angela (after all if they are bulletprof, maybe they can withstanand an explosion) and some others whom i don't know yet, but i'm very curious about who is in Hales body now. And Dolores took with her what? five Pearls? Let's suppose one is Angela, who are the others? Maybe one is her father's Pearl but i don't think so. Who do you think could it be?

post credits scene: It's far in the future, taste of some things to come...William is long dead, but his consciousness is locked in that Dellous experiment. William was alive during all the show, but may have died at the end of season 2 - that's still unclear. His daughter said the system was long gone and if you notice all the surrounding look very aged. That's the prevailing theory atm anyways.
@aaronlawson81516 жыл бұрын
Here is my take on it: The post credits takes place in the distant future. Emily is dead and that is a host version of her testing a host version of William for fidelity. In order to make an accurate host version of a human and confirm fidelity, the host has to make the same choices and mistakes as the human. When Dolores and Bernard were in the Forge talking to "Logan", he said that no matter how he changed each version of James Delos, that conversation with his son always happened the same way (with him refusing to help his son and ultimately leading to his overdose). That is seen as the defining moment in James Delos' life and something he truly regrets. So in order to confirm fidelity for William, no matter what they change, he will always end up losing his grip on reality and killing his daughter. And that will be the defining moment in his life.

Some people didn't like this season because there was no closure as in the first one. It's true that it's not as satisfying as in the previous season, but there is something to understand, it's not pure confusion. It keeps it open for season three. To watch the last episode again helps a lot and to watch the whole season again is so cool because you can see the connections from the very first seconds of the show. For me this show is totally amazing at every level. It became my favorite series of all time. 11/10

The only thing I noticed you guys missed and no one here talked about, is that only hosts can recreate a human mind in a robot body (hybrid). Because they can remember better all details and judge what remains and what not. That's the reason the earlier versions of the project didn't work, because it was humans trying to do it. So, concluding, it's his daughter at the end. In the far future, as a host doing the fidelity test on him...he is the hybrid and she is trying to recreate him.

The writers of the show came out and said that the last scene is set in the far future after an apocalypse/war created by the hosts v mankind. His daughter at the end is a host and the hosts for some reason seem to be trying to recreate humans again via a test subject ie William. That all happend some time after the events of episode 10, so William was human up till that point. William in host form is now trapped in a living hell of his own making.

Yeah, that was a complicated season with a really complicated ending. With all the time jumps it became hard to figure out what was happening when. Let's start with the ending. That was confusing. It's hard to figure out when William was and wasn't a host? I'm still not entirely convinced he is one. Or if that was actually Emily he shot? It definitely seemed like the Emily he talked to at the end was a host. But who knows for sure. I guess we'll find out next season. I can't say for certain who Dolores took with her. My original thought was Maeve and her crew but now I'm not so sure. Teddy is not one of them though. Dolores sent Teddy to the valley beyond. He was that brain ball she downloaded before she sent the valley to where it would never be found. I guess she figured he deserved a better chance to make his own life instead of being controlled by everybody. Dolores replaced Hale after all the hosts either escaped to the valley beyond or were killed. The major timeline jumps for this season can be summed up as before Bernard was found on the beach and after Bernard was found on the beach. The Hale we see in the parts pre beach are the real Hale. The Hale we see post beach are all Dolores posing as Hale. It's confusing but it helps if you use that opening beach scene as the place to track events back and forth from. That scene at the end with Ashley was another eye opening scene. I won't even get into whether he is a host or not, and if he is is he aware of it? But it definitely seemed like he knew Dolores was posing as Hale. And his comment seemed to be a message to her that when she leaves the park there's nothing he can do to help her if anything happens to her. It was an interesting comment for sure. I hope we explore his character a little bit more next season as well. That was a great, albeit confusing, season. I know some people didn't like how confusing it was but I thought it was fantastic, especially that 8th episode. What will Dolores do now that she's finally free in the real world? Who exactly did Dolores bring with her? What will Bernard do now that he's fully self aware and free? Will the park still be a part of the show? For that matter, will the park still exist after such a massive disaster where so many people were killed? I can't wait for next season to get the answers to these very questions.

1. OG William and his daughter were both human. She was killed by him and he survived the park(minus a hand) to die later. Everything they did was real. Hybrid William and host Emily are in the far future. Nobody knows who built him or why yet but they've been testing him in the old rundown abandoned park basically making Hybrid William go through OG Williams whole story to test him ending with him getting on the elevator at the forge because thats where OG Williams story in the park ended. 2. Everything up to the death of Elsie was Charlotte and that scene in the basement was regular Charlotte. After Elsie was killed Bernarnold created Charlores who then killed OG Charlotte. So pretty much everything in the non two weeks ago timeline (the current timeline) was Charlores. 3. Charlores put teddy in the afterlife. That was the last ball she scanned in. And nobody knows who she has in her purse yet but it could be anyone since, as Charlotte, Dolores would have access to pretty much everything and anything. 4. Im pretty sure stubbs isn't a host, just really dedicated.

Guys. Just to clear ur doubts...The ball used to unlock the forge is Peter Abernathy's and the last ball Halores (dolores+hale)uploaded in the forge was teddy's. Emily is actually dead. It was her host version testing her father (who according to the creators is neither a human nor a host). The balls she took were probably Hale, Karl strand, Bernard and the tech guy probably. Remember the scene where she is in the forge reading some of the books. Just observe the names on the books. She made host versions of them is what I think. Gr8 reaction. Keep up the good work.
@phillipl.sublett74746 жыл бұрын
Humans are not stored in balls. Dolores simply memorized their personality algorithms from the books she read in the Forge. She could re-create Hale's personality from memory and put it in Hale's body, just as she did with Bernard. So she did not need physical brain-balls for Bernard or any human, since she had them memorized in her own brain -- the balls in her purse were probably other hosts, or just some data she might need in the future. (Since the brain-balls are shown to be bulletproof, maybe Angela's ball survived blowing up the Cradle with grenades, and Dolores was able to retrieve it before leaving.)

Working assumption for now: William and his daughter were real the whole time, except in the post credit scene and in the short moment "System Logan" shows Bernard a copy of William in the Forge. The post credit scene takes place in a much later time, which is made visible by the degraded state of the place.

Note: Arnold’s Mission was to destroy the park and all the hosts. It failed. Ford’s mission was to get Maive out of the park (season 1). He started it with That failed cause Maive loves her kid and got off the train. So season 2 is actually Bernard’s Mission. Bernard’s Mission was to get Delores out of the park. Ford was not really talking to Bernard. It was Bernard’s conscious talking to himself same as Delores wasn’t seeing Arnold really, she was saying her own consciousness. Bernard just has to scramble his brain for the plan to work or the Delos soldiers would have deciphered it.
@blackkatt7776 жыл бұрын
Ok Remember the episode where Hale was interrogating Bernard after they found out he's a host? She said that she will help him to remember everything. She will tell him what she knows to guide him to remember what he forgot. That was Dolores. I personally think the scene where she had the men dump that Elsie's body in the basement , then she took a smoke and when Hale was shot by the host body of herself, with Dolores inside...I think that was reversed. She was down there taking a smoke. Got shot and replaced by Dolores. She saw where they were dumping the bodies and decided that's where she'd Elsie there later. She spoke to Elsie, and specifically said to her " I read your profile and you don't change. You're not morally flexible." Dolores and Bernard were in that huge library where Dolores read a number of files. So, I think that it was really Dolores that killed her, not Hale. Dolores uploaded Teddy's program into that virtual Valley Beyond because she recognized he belonged there. So, I don't think one of those mind balls were his. She definitely had Hale's memory ball, because once she got to that outside house, there was a machine table. She rebuilt her original body to upload herself back into. Then, she probably uploaded a more controllable version of Hale back into the Hale host, since she has top access to everything for the Delos company. I got the impression that Stubbs was a host that got woken up by the Ghost nation when they took him back in season 1. In season one Ford explained to, I believe it was Teresa, that some of the staff guarding the park were hosts and didn't know it. He said that while walking her through the control room. The very next thing, Stubbs was talking to one of the overseers about authorizing William's explosives. He kept protection over Bernard when they found him on that beach. He recognized Dolores and probably knew Ford wanted this to happen. I'm hoping he will be watching over Maeve and Hector when they come back. I balled like a baby when they shot Maeve. I was so pissed that she went through all that and she still didn't get to be with her daughter. I think she uploaded a piece of herself inside her daughter that let the daughter wake up and remember everything. I need her to come back. #TEAMMAEVE4EVER! Fun facts: Tessa Thompson- Hale, Luke Hemsworth- (the older Hemsworth brother) Stubbs, and Sir Anthony Hopkins all played in Thor Ragnorok together. Tessa was the Valkyrie, Luke played Thor in that play Loki had going on. And of course, Anthony was Odin/Lokie being Odin. Anthony Hopkins was in Mission Impossible 2 which he called Thandie Newton's character- Niyah, a conniving deceptor, so she had all the skills she needed because she was a woman(in so many words) when Ethan Hunt ( Tom Cruise) asked why was he sent to recruit her when she wasn't a spy and had no training for the mission? The daggers in his eyes when Anthony's character said that... Thandie was in "Interview with a Vampire" with Tom and Brad, as a house slave. Fast forward to West World, and she's basically Harriet Tubman A.I.freeing the oppressed hosts, while rescuing her child. And Anthony's Ford kisses her on the forehead and tells her she's the closest thing to a daughter and that she's his favorite. Boom! Just did a Westworld time warp with that one. Lol. It all came back full circle.

When Bernard watched Hale shoot Elsie, that's when he had the conversation with Ford about being the last of his kind, and then decided to replace Hale. Remember Bernard shot Dolores and removed her brain-ball in the Forge, then Elsie met him outside, gave him a ride back to the Mesa, and Elsie was shot by Hale while Bernard watched, with Dolores's brain still in his pocket. When Hale was later shot by Dolores in Robo-Hale's body, Hale was already standing over Elsie's body while smoking a cigarette. The only reason Bernard resurrected Dolores was in reaction to watching Hale shoot Elsie.

That scan in the neck that they do to check if someone is human, I believe is a scan for the explosives implant that is standard for hosts in the park (see discussion between Sylvester, Felix and Maeve in season 1 regarding why they needed to remake her body for her to escape). This is not to my knowledge confirmed by anyone but it fits with the fact that some host pass through undiscovered, yet there must be something the assault team knows that host have in their neck humans don't, that they designed this equipment around. This would also mean that Maeve would be able to pass through the same scan unnoticed, as would (probably) Stubbs and Bernard or any Dolores-made host in the outside world.
@phillipl.sublett74746 жыл бұрын
And Bernard passed the DNA scanner when he went with Hale to the secret lab -- so either the hosts can be designed to pass as human, or the scanning equipment itself was designed to ignore certain hosts and falsely read them as human; as Ford said to Theresa, "I built ALL of this."

The after credits scene is (confirmed by the showrunners) years in the future. William never entered that elevator, which is why Bernard didn't meet him going back out. William was collected by park security and the last scene we see from him, is when we see Charlores leave the park and him lieing there. This after credits scene could be like 5 years in the future, it could be 50 years in the future, we don't know. It's no simulation. It seems like someone (more likely the hosts) succeeded to do what William tried to do with James Delos, uploading his conciousness to a host body and creating eternal life. It isn't William's daughter, she calls him William, not Dad. It is some host, they made look like her so that the moment he will forever remember, and which will hold him to life, is how he killed his daughter (like for JD the defining moment was when he left Logan, without helping him).

In terms of William: basically everything we saw was real. It's only the after credits scene that is years later, decades even. In the real timeline after he was shot by Dolores he was rescued and killed himself some time later (this is a theory that's been floating around because the scenes they show of his wife committing suicide are conflicting, in some you see her with a clear bath overdosed on pills and some shots has a bath overflowing with blood - the latter is his own suicide). He goes through the park over and over with recreations of everything that happened, most likely Dolores's doing to get revenge, or it's Bernard trying to prove her and the forge system wrong; aka, the idea that humans can not change. (spoiler: this was proven by the writer who gave his life to save maeve because he started as a coward and became brave)

Don't worry, we were all confused by that post-credits scene. Interviews from the showrunners said that apparently William was always real, and his daughter was real (not counting the post credits). However, the post-credits scene is set in a totally different timeline and basically is a little preview of something from the show's endgame. It looks like eventually the show will jump hundreds (???) of years into the future and William will become copied into a host.
