I'm surprised that Daniel never went to anger management or therapy after the dark stuff he experienced. Sure, Miyagi-Do helps you find inner peace and balance but for someone like Daniel just based on his temperament, he needed more than that.

I think it's fine that Nikki and Steven can know that the newest dojo, "Hips-Do" led by an Elvis Presley impersonator, will come in at episode 8, wipe out all the other dojos in the valley, and end the season with "Thank-you... I think if Miguel was at full strength, he'd be the strongest fighter. He did beat Robbie and only lost the high school fight because he let his guard down. Hawk is my favorite character though, ever since the first season, love his character arc. I wonder if Sam ends up joining Eagle Fang, that'd be dope.

I agree that Miyagi would've diffused this and I don't think Miyagi would've had any issues with combining things with Johnny. As much as Daniel preaches Miyagi's teachings this season is showing how little he actually understood his mentor. Hell, Miyagi wasn't a stranger to breaking tradition, his father taught both him and Sato when traditionally Miyagi-do was father to son. I went to high school from the late 90s to early 00s and kids were able to have mohawks

Sam is experiencing PTSD and no one is recognizing the signs. Johnny wants her to build a hard shell and not take shit from people; Daniel wants her to find inner balance and use defense to overcome her problems; Amanda has yet to sit down and really talk to her daughter the same way she talked to Tory. The absolute only person to reach out to someone experiencing trauma would be Demetri to Hawk. The problem is: everybody is talking, but no one is actually communicating with anyone. I understand what Sam and Tory are going thru (hormones and trauma). However, you couldn't pay me to be 16 again.

Yeah, no one recognizes the signs including some of the fanbase. It's like their love of Tory paints her as a saint and completely absolves her of all the shit she put Sam through. This season Sam's trauma and rage came through full circle whereas last season it was her fear and believing she was helpless. I'm not saying Tory's life isn't rough as hell and her redemption arc isn't well deserved and needed this season and next, but Sam needs that clarity and help as well to truly seek closure and mental health also.

Good episode, and great reaction video. You guys are awesome. I love my nephews and nieces like they were my own kids and trained them first boxing and then Krav Maga. I never had to defend them because they were able to defend themselves. But if I were Amanda and it was my daughter who dealt with what Tory did to her but knowing what Torys life is about and how she is struggling while Sam was born with everything. I think I would do what Amanda is doing. It's hard but I was once dealing with so much crap as a teenager that still hunts me every once in a while. What I am saying is sometimes we have the power to change a kids life. Tory didn't get that way just because, she has had to literally put food on the table making up for rent, school and taking care of her lil brother. That's a lot, without adding the fact that she is still a teenager. It's so hard, a lil help goes a long way. Johnny was a terrible father to Robby and tried to reach out but Robby wasn't having it. Instead he mentored Miguel who didn't even have a father and was being bullied. Sometimes it's best to do the right thing because it's the right thing and maybe you'll change someone's heart but if not you can still walk away knowing you did what was right. I am sure that if Amanda sat down and really talked with Sam about Torys situation and explain it well she'd be resolved in just trying to beat her at the tournament and let things go.

I’ve been on so many campus fund committees and appeals committees. We wouldn’t send a student to the family of their victim. If we say you’re out, that’s what it’s going to be. The principal must be a real cowboy. But outside of school, on a personal note, I think with the tension between Sam and Tory, the qualitative context is important with what Tory asks of Mrs. LaRusso. Tory can’t afford to pay an out of district fee to attend another school. So Mrs. LaRusso had to know if she said no, she would most likely be denying Tory an education in a way and making her life more difficult. Most young women in Tory’s situation without a parental figure in their lives would sacrifice school for work and making money, so it’s admirable she wants to make her education a priority. Plus she agreed to getting support (which may prevent future bad behavior) and staying away from Sam which is very mature considering the karate rivalry. So although I wouldn’t send Tory Christmas cards if I were Sam’s mother, I would have made the same choice. Sometimes people deserve a second chance if they’ve got a strategy in place to change, and your confident they will pull it off.

In Amada's eyes, she believes the best way to solve the issues between Sam and Tory is to help Tory become a better person so that everyone can win at the end. Sam is coming off so spoiled here because she probably thinks she doesn't deserve the help and kindness. While I get it, she's had trauma because of her, Daniel told her to be the bigger person. It's better for Tory to change so that this rivalry can end in a healthy manner. I think what Amanda needs to do is plant the seed that Tory needs to apologize.

Sam and Tory need to sit down and talk to each other and listen to each other. I think if Sam knew where Tory was coming from and vice versa, they could find common ground. They don’t have to be friends, but they don’t have to be enemies. There could be at least respect.

Some of the kids in this show are really narrowminded brats. Like people can say "They're just kids" but thinking back can you really remember your buddies are other kids you knew being so shitty? I know I can't. Of course without people being crappy we wouldn't get all the drama that fuels the story!
