My Dad had a white Guilia Super 1600 way way back in the 70s when I was a teenager. Watching you drive yours and give it some beans, reminds me quite vividly of siting in the front passenger seat of my Dads, uphill in 3rd and it was like being strapped to a rocket! Lovely cars, enjoy yours and make sure you smile when you drive!

Outstanding build on one the greatest cars. Bought my first one, white, new in 1968. Installed 10:1 pistons and it went rather well on the winding roads in southern British Columbia. Sadly, in nine years it rusted so badly it went to the wreckers. Then, in 2005, I bought a 67 in V. good nick and installed a "warm" 2 L. Dave Rugh springs front, standard rear and Koni "reds", with the rear sway bar removed. A lot of fun on "B" roads.

Love the excitement you guys all have about this car. I purchased my 69 GTV in 2015 then moved to Europe 2 years later, I miss the car so much. Looking forward to getting back to Cali to drive it soon, even more after watching your video!

Bravo Ragazzo! Well done! nice to see young people building and driving cars like this. These are among the best cars ever built. in the 60's it was one of the fastest 4 cylinder family sedans in the world.

Mike Besic is one of the best Alfa Romeo engine builders out there! Sure you spent a whole lot of money but it’s money well spent with someone that knows what they are doing on these wonderful engines! Enjoy it and have fun 👍🏽

RE WIPERS Hi Nikko, you might need to test the wipers w water before relying on them in a down pour on a freeway. ALFA 105 'clapping hand' style wipers can touch and jam when car is at speed. I've had to do this on my 1750 S1. Fine adjustment is via the mechanism under the scuttle panel. Remove wipers then the panel, re-install wipers, undo locking bolts and find a happy medium, use a marker on the arms and on the spindles. Remove arms install panel and arms. Bit long winded but hope it works for you. V good production on vid and great project.

Makes me long for my old '71 1300 ti that I put a '73 2000 (pre oil crisis, 112kw, the later ones were down tuned to I think about 103, something like that) engine into. Man that car was quick, ran away from late 90s Golf GTIs, Sierra XR6, BMW 735. BUT, only up to about 160km/h (100mph) when the engine reached red line in 5th. I never did change the diff for longer legs...it was too much fun.

What a nice project, the car just looks superb, just proper everywhere into the smallest details 👍 There is a crazy Dutch guy with a Giulia 5 cylinder 2.4 JTD engine, nowhere near as clean as yours but it's a daily and he never intended to restore the body.

Looks great! I saw you’re trying to fit 15x7 gta wheels. Too much rubbing? I’d really like to do the same but the fitment seems problematic. I have to say the steelies look pretty nice on the car the way you have it setup tho!

there was rubbing yeah. Had to use a mallet on the side of the rear. and also cut a little of the fender lip

Awesome car. Apart from the mechanical wonders done to your car were you able to install a proper AC in the car? If so how?
@NikkoSalgado2 жыл бұрын
yeah was looking into vintage air but cant seem to find a simple way to do it. would have to put the condenser in front of the radiator but probably cut GTA style holes for air.
