As I wasn't really happy with the video quality of the DJI FPV drone, I decided to strap a GoPro 9 onto it. I explain how to install the 3D printed action camera mount, talk about the stabilisation workflow in ReelSteady Go, show you my GoPro settings and compare both cameras. Together with my friends Phil and Boris we drove to some of the most beautiful landscapes on Mallorca and tested out if this is the perfect FPV setup for beginners.

I have to say way beyond awesome, I learn a lot from your channel especially the FPV is a new totally different episode of drone flying. Ayyy I got the same setup bro. I'm glad I'm on the same journey of FPV with you. I do still plan to get like a 3in or 5in FPV. But the DJI FPV is a life saver. Hopefully updates come to it where it don't lose connection. I've almost lost my drone too 😅

Could you maybe give me an opinion about a problem I have with this specific setup? As soon as I slap my gopro on the drone it becomes extremely shaky and doesn't stop shaking ever. It also puts a lot of strain on the motors... footage completely unusable and I even crashed my drone because of this. New unit, same issue. Have you encountered a similar problem to me?

14:54 you can plug the GoPro via usb-C into balance plug of the lipo. iFlight has such adapters. This way you do not have to carry GoPro battery.

I absolutely love your videos! The story and editing are so good! I just started flying fpv drones and did my first cinematic video using one with the GoPro hero 9. I was considering the DJI FPV Drone, but ended buying rotor riot's CL1 build. I love my drone but its a bit too sensitive for those smooth shots. I'm realizing its more for freestyle. After this video, I am now considering buying the DJI FPV Drone for the future!

One BIG thing to take into account is the interference with gps and flight controls from the GoPro. I have a hero 10 on my DJI fpv and this MIGHT just be isolated to that camera but I lose all gps / satellite connection, any RTH function and, most recently, lost directional control during a flight which caused it to crash, albeit very softly, into a tree. I’m using the small rig mount which puts the GoPro slightly further back so I’ll need to do a test with it mounted further forward (like it’s shown here) but my advice for anyone trying this is to test it in a wide open flat place multiple times before doing anything exotic - I was lucky I didn’t lose the drone and camera. The footage that comes from the GoPro, paired with ReelSteady, is unbelievable and certainly worth the risk though!

Same thing here, it's because most action camera processors run at the same frequency as GPS when recording and it causes interference, not just an issue for drones but anyone who uses a newer gopro and a GPS device in close proximity; GPS navigation on say a motorcycle wont work the second you hit record, all is fine until you hit the record button. I gave up, there's just no way to get a GPS lock while recording, the second you hit the record button you will loose your GPS lock. I was told anything before a gopro 7 will work, but anything after wont; it's rumored as to what is the issue that killed gopros drone, the Karma; all their issues were GPS interference related and there's appareantly no way to shield from it. I've tried multiple action and 360 cameras, no joy; all killed GPS locks the second the record button is pressed and the processor in the camera kicks up. Shame because the camera DJI put on this drone is so poor; hense the desire to put a decent camera on top by many.

Make sure you turn off any Bluetooth and Wifi on the GoPro. That will be whats giving you those issues.
