Imagine you’re 14 years old, you’re learning guitar, you have been for some months but you’re doing great. All you own is a Fender Squier and your bundled amp. You’re humble but you love your things. And after a couple months of doing jobs around your neighborhood, you finally and buy your first distortion pedal. You run home, so excited that you don’t really know what are you gonna play first. You plug everything in. Then you’re standing there with your guitar, pedal and amp plugged and ready and you put your music player on shuffle. Coincidentally you learned how to tune down to Drop C last week, and Animal I Have Become start playing. You grasp your pick between your thumb and index finger, and deep down you know this is the beginning of everything. Sweet memories that will never come back.
