That burnt truck is always going to stink; you'll never ozonate it completely clean because soot has now collected on the backs of panels that you can't reach. I'd concentrate on the non-burned build. My 2 cents ...
@neil62123 жыл бұрын
The wrecked unit is definitely a parts donor, and the chassis appears to be beyond repair. They are designed to crumple at a more or less controlled rate in interest of controlling the deceleration rate somewhat to protect occupants. And, as Edward Tilley suggested, you will NEVER get rid of the burned smell, but can surely mitigate it by installing the entire ceiling and soft trim from the other unit, as well as the cabinets. It is possible to clean the A/C enough to get rid of the smell, but it is probably beyond what you are able and willing to do. Been there, done that!

You guys rock! With your hard work and persistence...you’ll be successful. I used to own an auto upholstery business, and we were often tasked with resolving horrible smells in cars, vans and motor homes from dead animals, gallons of milk that had spilled and soaked the carpet then “percolated” for weeks, and even 5 gallons of gas that had been spilled in a trunk. You’re going the right direction with this build in removing all of the materials that have soaked in the smells of the fire. We then used a commercial ozone generator, and would leave it inside the vehicle for several days if need be. If you do this, be cautious and don’t let anyone in the vehicle until the ozone is completely gone-at least 12 hours or so. Even with all of the bizarre smells and issues, we never failed to erase the odors completely and return the vehicle to service...sometimes it took several cycles of cleaning and ozone, but we were always successful...you can be, too! -Don

Guys, you're getting into LOTS of trouble with this burned unit. A simple light wash you did, although looking good, will in no way remove he smell. burned plastic soot went into nooks and cranies, vents, into the dash, everywhere, like those woven seats in the back room. I worked at a professionnal cleaning company, fixing their equipment including a fumegating unit, used to remove smells into appartments and offices, rot, animals urine, name it, after a true nitty picky scrubbing and thoughrow rinsing. Success ! The only exception was small kitchen fires like in your RV. A light smell always remained. Better off repairing the 2017 smashed one with the burnt front end. My 2 cents...
