Gia loves Nikolas more than anything in the world and this was one of the few times in this storyline where Laura actually asked if Nikolas was okay. It should not be surprising that Nikolas wanted to be married to Gia and wanted a child with Gia because, I think that he needed and deserved to have his own life where everything isn't always about Lucky and the Spencers. I think that Nikolas and Gia are not selfish for wanting to be married and Nikolas isn't selfish for wanting a child with Gia.
