The best dark spot remover I ever used was Mychelle’s apple brightening serum which removed all my sun spots in about a month! Yes, all. And, I didn’t have to use it for years after. But, of course, it was discontinued. Too effective!

I have a doctor’s prescription for tretinoin which costs almost nothing and is the Rolls-Royce retin product. The rest are just weaker cosmetic versions. I also use alpha arbutin and niacinamide from The Ordinary in the morning, cost about $10 each, both very effective for stopping the melanin production and fading dark spots.

I used to use original Obagi the formula that had the hydroquinone; my skin was flawless; it got rid of all my spots; I have used other products and thus far I have not found a product to fade these spots; I have used many of the products; Thank you for more products to try.

When it comes to "pricey" items, in my experience these usually last longer than you might expect and you don't have to repurchase as often as you do the less expensive ones that do not work as well. Therefore, you are not spending more money in the long run.

I am going to try one, only one, of the products that you have suggested even though I live near the poverty line. We are all adults and can manage our own priorities, right? About 10 years ago one morning I noticed a large dark splotch on the left side of my face. I thought it would go away. It never did. It makes me sad. I want to try to get rid of it. (Of course I first consulted a physician to rule out any serious health issues.) This splotch is probably from sun damage way back in the 60s and 70s when no one used sunscreen. I am excited!

I’ve been using Good Genes by Sunday Riley but I don’t think it helps that much with my dark spots at all. It does make my skin feel smooth but it doesn’t fade my dark spots at all. It does smell nice though. It’s a bit pricey though.

I enjoy watching Nikol's channel. The techniques she uses are relevant and inspiring whatever the price of the products used. I would advice caution when using any products containing retinol because frequent use can make skin photosensitive.

Actually, most of those over priced products cannot be used with Retin A. I use Retin A 1% gel which has produced better results than any of the expensive products. I use a vit c serum with ferulic and hyaluronic acids by Dr. Brenner which is much cheaper. My face and neck love it. By the way I am 75 and have no wrinkles because of these products.

I've been using Glytone's Brightening Complex for 4 years. It has Glycolic acid and Azelaic Acid. Both ingredients are great for age/sun spots. I'm 63 and people tell me to this day, I have beautiful skin. I've been religious with sunscreen for several years. I think Retin- A is overrated. I know women in real life and KZbin that swear by Retin A, but their skin doesn't look that great. I guess we have to decide what works best for us. By the way, I was told by a dermatologist there is nothing that will erase spots completely.

I am 81 and I have not taken any special care of my skin in past years. Of course now when I look in the mirror I'm regretful that I haven't. I'm desperate now to see whether there is anything I can still do to make myself look the best I possibly can. Wonderful video! You're a spectacular source for beauty and you are so beautiful! I used Murad Spot treatment with hydroquinone on and off for about 1.5 years. I never had any negative reactions and a big old dark patch on my temple disappeared and has never returned. I stopped using it over a year ago and now that product is discontinued. All your recommendations are tempting. I'll have to try some because another spot on my other temple needs removal. Hope I can get the same results as the Murad. I like to listen to the videos but I can’t use most of them. I’m sixty one, have been taking care of my skin faithfully all my life. Used foundation infrequently, mainly eyeliner, mascara, blush, lipstick and lots of moisturizer and sunscreen. Well about three years ago or so, I got eczema on my eyelids and some under the eye. Extremely painful, irritating. The dermatologist gave me a cream Desonide that sort of helped, I also tried Tacrolimus. This was better but you can’t use more than two weeks and when you put it on, even when you wash your face the next day it feels like you’re in front of flames. CeraVe lotion and cleanser has helped me a lot. Right now it’s under control but I’m afraid once the winter is here it will start all over. I’m so sad, even a light coat of mascara or eyeliner can irritate my lids. HAS ANYONE HAD THIS PROBLEM? Any advice is welcomed. I can’t use any alpha hydroxy anywhere on my face. All my life I used Clinique and had results. Now only CeraVe 🤷‍♀️😞

I have purchased both :Kiehl'sClearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution, and The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toning Solution. Neither has done much for me. I will continue to use both, alternating daily, and just see what happens. I think the best thing to do is to use a good concealer instead.

What works the very best for me was first to see my Derm Dr, he did a Limelight facial which zapped the spots about 80%. Then I use Retin A about 3 times a week, sunscreen every day, exfoliation 2x a week. I don’t want to spread on stuff for a year to get a slight fade. I go for results by my Dr then medical grade skin care afterward. Everyone’s skin is different.

I have a question about hyaluronic acid, I heard it pulls the water, and moisture from the under layers of your skin. I heard this is not a good idea because it will eventually make you look older, especially if you don't drink enough water. Is this true?

I learned about hydroquinone when I was in the Radiologic Technology Program in college. Hydroquinone is a chemical used to develop X-Ray films. Personally, I would never use it on my skin.

I thought I was just paying the price for my early days soaking up sun 8 hours a day. I started a consistent skincare routine and after several weeks I started seeing a difference. @@margaretcordova3268 Hello Margaret. Potato is loaded with vit C, B1,B3 &B6. Thin slice and sit down listening to music or watch TV, just gently rub or pat on face for 15 min. Do not use ACV with potatoe, too potent can do more damage than good. I have no dark spots at my old age. Also you can use a slice of banana peel from the inside and rub gently on face for 15. By the way you can rub on your teeth and you will see white teeth like crazy in one week. This just works for me. If you want to get rid of wrinkles try a dime size castor oil with you favorite night cream. I hope these help.

Thank you for this video. I have tried many types of products, currently mostly Retin A, and a variety of ordinary products, including sun screen. Some days I think my skin looks great, other days not so much. My goal has always been to not have to wear as little foundation as possible. I don’t feel like that’s ever going to happen. My question is I really do not know If these products are working on my skin or not. I didn't do any skin care or use sunscreen on my face for all my 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s not did(still) not have a cleaning and moisturizer regimen and my face has paid the price. My entire face is covered in sunspots and is full and dry. When I have a eyebrow wax the lady has a hard time finding my brow ending because of the dark spots. I'm semi fair skinned with gold undertones and have no idea what to use to cover them or to even my complexion. So,thank you very much for this. But I have no clue what products are the best for my skin. I have light skin with dark brown patches on ,y face from tanning when I was younger. Please help.

Be careful with coconut oil, it can be comodogenic

It is a minefield out there I hate all the choice and claims that all these products do. It is nice to be informed but living in Florida and the lifestyle out there is different to uk. It’s lovely to have all these products but expensive. My mom who is 89 has not got a wrinkle on her face and she has never bothered with products just kept out sun. She looks younger than me 60, I have dark spots as I love sun well did. So lady’s try keep face out sun damage.👍

Thanks for this video. Really needed some suggestions for a dark spot reducer product. How would I decide when to use which product since almost all of them have the same function? I would want to get the first and the last product you mentioned.

Lots of food for thought! Right now it’s very late for me so I’ll watch it again tomorrow or Thursday, and then I will make my mind up. If you have the time & or patience it would be so helpful to let me (us) know most important being #1 -on down to #10. That would be very helpful & we could budget our way through the list.
