Can you please create a video to explain which is the best focal length and explain those markings 1,2,3 and 6,4,6? Thanks.

Why not use a recessed lens board on the front of the camera for the digital lens and use another lens board in lieu of the film holder on the back of the view camera? To that board, mount an SLR lens mount, taken off an old (broken, even) lens and mount the DSLR camera to that? I had an old Cambo Legend 4x5 camera that was sitting around that I put into service on a copy stand setup with a Nikon D800 that way. What advantages would the Fotodiox offer me?

That's a good idea. We made this product specifically for people who already have a 4x5 camera and just want a simple way to mount their digital camera on the back.

Thanks for the reply. I've been buying a few different sundry Fotodiox products like thread adapters and I like the inventive, useful stuff you are offering.

From what I understand, your method would end up with a stationary dlsr back so the final image you would get would be the same resolution as the dslr normally produces. But with the fotodiox back you are able to move the camera to make several exposures from different areas and then use photoshop to stitch together the images to create one final image with a resolution of 6-9 times more than just a single dslr image. Fotodiox, Would this be mostly applicable to stationary subjects since movement in the frame may not stitch well together?

Have you guys considered having the viewer built into the adapter like the rhinocam? How are you supposed to view the image and make sure its in focus? Are you supposed to use the ground glass then replace it with the adapter and check focus again before capture? It seems really inconvenient. Even if you keep the adapter on and use the camera LCD as the ground glass, you won't get a real idea of what the final image will look like since you are only able to see a portion of the image at any given time. i think that is the main reason why im not buying the adapter, it seems inconvenient. Honestly, this is about the same price as the rhinocam and it does the same thing. But this doesn't even offer a viewer like the rhinocam. So in my book, this is not worth the price tag.

Does Fotodiox offer the same 4x5 adapter for Sony E?
@FotodioxInc5 жыл бұрын
No, but you can double adapt. Just buy our Canon EF to 4x5 back and our Canon EF to Sony E-mount adapter and combine them. Here are the two products you'll need: fotodioxpro.com/products/eos-4x5-pro fotodioxpro.com/products/eos-snye

Where can I get one of those? Does it works with Linhof Cameras?

This simple system works with any 4 x 5 view camera .

What exactly is the point of this? What is the point of using the central 7.5% area of the covering circle of 4X5 lens on a sensor? Some ideas sound interesting, but in the final analysis they are neither practical, nor desirable.

Our 4x5 to digital camera backs are some of our most popular products. There's a real desire to use digital cameras with 4x5 cameras, especially for people who have just purchased or inherited a 4x5 camera and are just dipping their toes into shooting large format film photography. You're right, using a 4x5 sheet of film will give you a far superior result, but having this digital option is something a lot of people also seem to want.

Please put some more professional quality into this video. Switch on the LIGHTS, please !!! Mount the camera on a tripod. Do not lay the camera and its parts on the ground or on the glass plate of a viewing table. So simple, is not it ? Fotodiox is a not completely perfect system. The 4 x 5 view camera is a too "fat" camera. View camera optics are most of the time a too long for Full Frame and APS-C cameras. So this Fotodiox is a nice toy; just that. Not even Cambo did his homework well. Todays camera brands have some Gyro Gearloose guys as designers. Why is the contact with the real photographers fading away ?
