This video is just for interest sake to see a Nikon F2 camera body decked out with a huge accessory setup. I had it for a short time and though it would be fun to do a video before I had to let it go.
Originally in service with the Canadian Defense Research Technology Establishment (DRTE).
With the camera is:

Thanks for the blast from the past! I knew a guy who used to shoot on sets in Hollywood - he had the same set up with the MF-1 and MD-2 - fit all inside a hard shell blimp! Man, that was a hefty rig!

What an awesome camera setup. I have the Nikon F with F250 bulk film back (prior version) and it is just as bulletproof. The big difference between the two is that the motor drive of the F250 is integrated into the back, so the unit is 'mated for life'; whereas with the F2 the camera can still be used as a 36 exposure motor-driven camera without the MF-1 back. From what I understand, the MF-2 750 exposure back was originally used by the Dutch traffic police in speed camera outfits in the early 1970's. Now I wish I was a traffic cop back then😂

I wish I had that 250 frame back. I have two F2's and motor drives, but it seems really cool to have 250 frames to shoot with.

My old F3hp and motor drive is in my equipment closet with a need for shutter to be replaced. But I never could find anyone including Nikon that wanted to repair it. The only lens from those days that i still have is a ‘sneaker zoom’ 1.4.

Ya I've repaired many F3's and found most shutters don't go. Its usually the electronics. You try forcing the shutter release with the mechanical shutter release on the front?

nice way of fast snapping, I think that other motor is a way of adjusting the aperture at pace with the burst speed, not as an A priority Automatic mode, as appears on all digital systems nowadays.

While a Canon shooter (F1s), I flirted around with the possibility of defecting to Nikon in the mid 80s, playing the F2s and an F3HP, but stuck it out with Canon. I really miss. I really miss those tanks. What did you pay for this setup?

Ya the F2 is one of my fave bodies and definitely worth looking for. I have had quite a few F3's but they never really grew on me like the F2's. If I remember correctly it was around -$500 but I'm not totally sure now.

I used a F2 / 250 filmback for many years in school pfotografy .This camera in the videois as good as new and your demonstration is very well done. However….after "loading thefilmcassetes" you have to open this cassetes with the big knops on the top of the back..cassetes open = impossible escape from the camera !!! very important !!and also : cassetes closed with film = filmjam during shooting, ALWAYS.this camera was the best from Nikon.

Meh, just use your phone. Just kidding! Those old 35mm and medium format film cameras from the 1970's and 1980's are so cool, well-built, and fun. Just holding one of my Nikon F3HP's make the horrors of this world disappear.

nice and fast , but at 10 fps it would eat film cartridge at a time of : 250 back - 25 SECONDS!! or the 750 back- 75 seconds (1 minute, 15 seconds)!!! not much time to get those shots.

I have an original F2 brochure from back in the day with all the accessories beautifully photographed and explaining what they did and what they were for. I would have thought that that equipment is pretty rare. Not the F2 body though. But the rest of it maybe!! They don't build cameras like that anymore. Japanese mechanical engineering at its best. love my F5. Hey big thumbs up.
