Nikon F6 | Kodak Professional Porta 400

Loading film into my F6 after several years. I might have used this particular film maybe once before, more than 10 years ago; cannot recall for sure, though.

The F6 was too late to the party to make an impact on the people. The F5 though,,,, that’s a great camera.

Agree. I did not see a single advertisement for the F6 in Popular Photography magazine. That is a shame. Not a single ad.

It was late but I picked mine up new in 2006. I shot a ton of weddings and it is a fabulous camera. I use it now to shoot slide film and its the best 35mm camera I have ever used. I also have an F5 and its a tank but not as refined as the F6.

Thank you for your above comment, Rob. I also bought mine new in Summer of 2006, as a birthday gift to myself. It was released in 2004. I am not a professional; just an enthusiast. Back in the mid-70’s, I missed-out by three days on someone selling a new F2S Photomic, so I settled on buying the Canon F1, which was the other new camera this guy was selling. (The F1 got stolen in Manhattan in early 90’s). But the fact that I missed out on the Nikon F2, lingered on in my mind for the next several decades. I considered the F4 while in college, but it was out of my budget. So in 2006, YOLO kicked in, and I bought the F6. But the F2 still lingered on. So then a few years ago, I finally got the F2AS Photomic with the latest DP-12 Finder. 🙂 Now I am satisfied. 😀
