I learn something new every time I watch one of your videos. I’m going to try the silent mode today and see what happens. Thanks Charles.

That's great, let me know how it goes.

Thanks for letting us know that we can use CH extended at silent mode without blackouts. Lack of shutter sound however diminished the joy of shooting in burst mode.
@CharlesNPhotography Жыл бұрын
Than you, I actually like having no sound at all, but to make sure I don't go crazy taking hundreds of photos at a time, I limit the shutter count to 20 or 30 shots per burst

Thank you for your hard work. I used your suggestion on my Z6 and with the Nikkor Z 400mm f/4.5 VR S. Silent mode gives a good result! VR- sport mode.

Another great video, wondering if on the birds in flight , if large focus square might help
@CharlesNPhotography Жыл бұрын
Yes it does, but you've got to keep an eye on the background as the Z6II has the tendency of focusing on the background at times.

Hi Charles , great videos and very useful. Can you help me with z6ii ibis. I am using 70-200 vr2 fmount lens on my z6ii and even the VR is switched off on my lens I still think ibis is working. Two reasons why I think this is a case is Even shooting on 1/1600 my daughter on a scooter I still get a little bit soft/lightly motion blur kind of photos. Second reason why I think ibis is still working is because whilst taking the photos my evf image is bouncing up slightly, I am using silent photography mode. Is there a way to completely disable ibis ? Many thanks.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to enable or disable Nikon’s in-body image stabilization system: 1. Press the Menu button on the top of the camera. 2. Use the multi-selector to navigate to the Setup menu (the wrench icon). 3. Navigate to the Image Stabilization option and press the OK button. 4. Use the multi-selector to select On or Off. 5. Press the OK button to save your changes. In Silent Photography mode, sometimes you can get Rolling Shutter, and I've encountered this at times when I use Silent Photography and Continuous High Extend mode.

Rolling shutter you'll definitely see with enough panning motion, with a fast ball (turns egg-shaped), a fast club or bat swing etc. But I do see its advantages when being silent is a must (obviously). I'm struggling to see any advantages (at all) to electronic front curtain - why would anyone choose this over Mechanical or Silent?
@CharlesNPhotography Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your reply, but like I stated in this video I am talking about using Silent Photography for Wildlife Photography. But I do agree with you that I also find no real advantage of using electronic front curtain.

I love silent shutter but it's make slow camera slower 😬
@CharlesNPhotography Жыл бұрын
Yes, on the Z6II in continuous high extended instead of about 12 fps I am getting 8fps, but the auto-focus is much more reliable
