Nikon took 18 months to design a saw that could separate the grip part from the rest of the Z9. ;) All jokes aside, I think they have a winner here. And I also think we might see a Z9 II in early 2024 or so. The question is... what about the cameras for us mere mortals? Z6 III and Z7 III.

I got to play with a D850 for a week or so and I'd love one! I love the DSLRs feel and chunkiness. Only thing I like in mirrorless is full silent shooting which D780 had as a hybrid. Would be nice if they made another hybrid or two

Canon R6II does 40 fps. Plus it reliably AF.

So, this is the Z9C (C = Compact). They should have called it just that and leave themselves space to get a proper Z8 with proper innovation in it (stacked 60+MP sensor?) beyond what they already have in the Z9. This is not innovation, it is repackaging. Still, the Z8 is a capable camera - don't get me wrong - but all it needs to say is: Z9 compact. There is nothing else to talk about. That's it. Do you want to see a review? Go see a Z9 review. End of story. Finito. Kaput. They want me to move from my beloved D850s to this? Not a chance...

Very disappointing a lazy release from Nikon. They just released the same camera they released two years ago, only smaller. The image quilty will be better on your z7, so if you're not doing sports, don't get this camera

Definitely is a lazy release. Only time this worked was D5 and D500. But one was dx and one fx

Really lazy. They just released a camera that’s more technologically advanced than any camera released by Sony and Canon within the price point. This camera puts the $6.5k Sony A1 to shame.
