LOL .. i just let it spring out 🙂 not a bad idea for the microsd card though..

Always afraid the SD card will end up on the floor.

Me too :-)) That hack is not necessary and has never been a problem for me. Push the card into the slot and then let it snap back, it comes out a little further than if you do it like in the video and you can easily grab it. And it doesn't fly out. So 90% of all so-called hacks are completely unnecessary.

I find it helps a lot with the grip attached. Don't need it at all without the grip.

Camera with mounted L-bracket or grip need this. In my case snap-out method results flying card around. You may loose it. But also may ruin your lock mechanism what happened to me. So this is great at Sony A6xxx when bracket mounted. But you are free to choose this or "cursing hand-book".😄

I use mini rubberized tongs, used for cooking….They work amazing….like silicon toaster tongs ( which also work) but smaller.

I have been doing this on my Olympus e300 because the release mechanism was brocken! Simple fast and easy👍

The card in my Zf just pops out when needed, am I doing something wrong?

I knew that trick already as a kid, except I used it on AA batteries that were impossible to remove! I recently had an electrician over and he saw my trick and it made him laugh because he never thought of doing that and he literally has to change batteries every single day. 😂

My ZF does not have this problem; after pressing, the memory card extends enough to be taken by my fingers. On the other hand, I don’t see any particular need to take out the card often, since the files recorded on it can be quite easily managed from a PC via a USB-C cable connection. But thank you for the idea presented in the video!

If you have the hand grip with arca-swiss plate the SD card will be hard to take out. I always take the card out and use my card reader. So this video helps a lot.

Does it fit in a card reader with the tape on?
@alainmonnens3 ай бұрын
With my reader, I don't have any problems. Depends of course on the reader and how far the card needs to be inserted. It is then important to position the tape so that it is not blocked in the slot of the reader.

doesnt the Zf have a high speed usb c port? Why even remove the card. Just plug the camera straight into your PC. But also Bad design by nikon.
@alainmonnens5 ай бұрын
Yes you can download the picture from the Zf via USB-C. With the grip, it is difficult for my fingers to get the SD card out. Nikon obviously doesn't know the size of my fingers 😉

There are some reasons to remove the SD cards instead of using a cable: 1st: Card reader is more fast 2nd: I have a bad experience with Nikon flaps - so I protect them - I do not know if they need to remove the skin of the camera if they change flaps - and I have a colored one - a grey ZF (and is not sure that you will get back a colored one if you send the camera in Service) 3rd: I am using different cards with different saved settings (different settings for MF lenses eg on that case the back button is 100% zoom, while on the other card I have settings for AF lenses eg the back button is 3D tracking), so it is important for me to be able to change cards.

If you do not have the capability to remove an sd card from a camera, then you should not own a camera.

You obviously don’t own this camera. One of my favorites of all time but without removing the grip and battery every time the card ain’t coming out.
