I said it before and will say it again...Nik, you are an "Old Soul". To see the joy in your eyes once the stove pipe was in and to hear you talk about it. More than just the fire was kindled that day. All the hard work was well worth it to have your first Christmas in the Log Cabin.

The many special moments that you share with your family are encapsulated in the darkened trees that make the base of this lovely home. Without your family, it would just be a building in the woods done by a craftsman for sure, its family that makes it so grand. What a great touch the tree telling a story as well of how nature is in charge. We only rearrange things for a while and then she takes it back. As I age, I realize I too shall be a part of the soil again. Your talents Nik are incredible as we see what you see from your standpoint. You are a great man in my books

This episode gave me goosebumps more than once. Your time as a family lighting your first fire was a special moment to witness. I was especially moved when you finished everything in time for Christmas and used the occasion to put the finishing touches on a beautiful nativity scene in honor and celebration of Christ's birth. Finally, the scenes at the end showing the beauty of nature even in the harshness of winter. Nik this channel is truly a blessing to all of us that you are sharing your adventures with. I've noticed, at least it seems to me, that you all follow some strong spiritual beliefs. I love the black shirt you're wearing when you installed the stove. It was heartwarming to see you and your family! Family time celebrating the birth of Jesus is the most special time of year to me, so much love in the air! Hearing the sounds of your daughter’s voice and excitement was a joy. And to see your son help you is grand. The tree is beautiful with moss added to bottom. When I saw baby Jesus placed under the tree that blessed me seeing He had a place in your log cabin. It didn’t surprise me when in came the wood stove, yes, a good quality stove like everything you do. I loved looking at your log walls during the video and seeing such beautiful work with those logs sealed together jam packed nice. And when I look at your face I see a man who gives life a good shot. Loved seeing the love and affection shown to your woman and you together as a family living life with fun together. I can’t wait to see your next video! I always look forward to seeing you! Nik, I joined you about the beginning of the second year. What an incredible set of tasks you planned and completed. I am full of admiration for the quality of workmanship in the almost finished cabin. Kudos to you and your family and may you get years of comfort and relaxation. Great work. I live an a house that is 12 miles south of Pikes Peak in central Colorado. While the Peak is at 14,110 feet, the altitude through the living room is 6,250 feet. I never get tired of looking out at 8,000 ft. ridges valleys, and mountains. The difference in scenery from your place is that this area is semi-arid with a lot of juniper (AKA mountain cedar), pine, and cholla cactus. So I identify with you and your flora, and your videos strike a responsive chord in my heart. Thanks.

Same here in South Texas, fellow watcher, no snow just cold weather dropping to the low 30 degrees Fahrenheit; but alas, not enough moisture to bring us any snow. I've also been watching Nik’a build from the beginning, and while I also would love to see more content from his channel I understand it must be tough. Nik has to balance his family, work, build the cabin, and edit/upload all the content he makes. That takes a lot of time, so, understandably, his releases are sparse. I look at it from the point of quality over quantity, sure he could release a bunch of crappy videos or he can release them slowly.and take his time making them the best quality possible. It's like a diamond, when you find it it just looks like an ordinary piece of crystal, but give that to a jeweler, and he will make a beautiful gem out of it. This is what Nik is giving us, only the best.

He has a much nicer one than I yet I could do a 3 inch clearance and I got it twenty years ago. I clean it with special logs that has Lye to Make the creosote flakes off and fly out the stack. @@AhmetMurati Yes, Nik needs to be very concerned. I build a fireplace and the brick in fount of the fireplace was laid on a wood subfloor Brick and concrete does reflect heat very good. But it retains heat and gets hot and hotter. It will burn the floor. A metal shield in back and below the stove with an air gap would well well. I was very close to burning my home down so I learned the hard way. Stone looks good but does very little to protect to wood. AIR is a great insulator. I do hope you read this Nik Chet from Tennessee, USA

Bringing the hot stove too close to the rear can be risky.

I'll protect the wall with stone or something similar. I knew from the first day that it can't be like that forever, it gets too hot.

This was so much fun! Thank you for sharing your Christmas traditions with us. I especially enjoyed the shepherds, the Christ child, and your children’s involvement and the fireworks! Your frolic through the snowy woods was great! I would do that too! Blessings to you and your family!! And stay warm by that wonderful wood stove!

A father carrying a tree while his two children follow in adornment. Two children sharing in the delight of cutting and mounting of a base for their Christmas tree that only comes once a year. A family decorating a Christmas tree with homemade ornaments in a cold cabin but enjoying their time immersed in love. A wife who is happy to help with any and all of the carpentry and provide meals and watch the children while the husband builds a dream cabin. What is this crazy modern male toxicity that I am watching and loving so much!!!! God Bless this family and God Bless everyone. Even the people who would think the "nuclear family" is dead. This video gives me hope

Hi Nick, I've been following you for about two years, I really do not know how to say, you are a perfect human being and a man, if I say you are, it may not be a good word, but you are much more than perfect, you are extraordinary, you are exceptional, you have crossed all boundaries and standards in being good, I am from you I learned a lot. Congratulations to the family you have and to yourself for having such a kind and loving family, but I have a question for you, maybe many others have asked, how can you do all this hard work alone ??? From the first days you started to build this beautiful house, I watched all your clips, I saw how you walked in the coldest weather and alone, those very big and big trees in the mountains from a way far away from where you built them. After cutting with difficulty with a tractor alone, Also, if there is a mistake in this message, forgive me, because I wrote this text with the help of Google Translator. I wish the best for you and your family and especially that lovely little girl .
