There's a much easier and quicker way to age scotch tape. If you use "Prismacolor " (alcohol ink pen) in Goldenrod to swipe over the tape with the broad end, you come out with exactly the color of old scotch tape. No need for gloves or mixing or mess. Perfect results every time.

Omg. Great video... love the tape and I so relate to the commercials. I also agree about the bras. Many years ago I worked in a bra factory. I used to put the hook and eyes on the bras. Every day our floor lady would come out of the office and yell, " hookers..... lunch". Lol Memories...... true story.

Excellent project, love love it. Have Arthur's Itis, was suggested I get sports bra so I don't have to struggle fastening it. I was trapped with it in a roll behind me so many times, because it's harder to pull down than clips. Luckily have a hubby after dieing laughing, managed to rescue me?!?!?!??? In the bin.

I'm soooo glad I found your channel. I was getting depressed and thought I would not "fit" with anyone...I had been trying to watch another person, and while I do like what she does...I was getting so irritated with her constant sound making..like "boop" and "whoop" every time she put something down...then I came on your channel..and you are fast talking (no noises) and funny and I settled back and had fun listening to you. I love the page, too! That was a bonus!

I have squirrel moments too. Love your pet peeves. Except the vacuum. I loved my old canister vacuum. It had a long, long hose. Now I have a heavy Shark upright with a short hose and I hate it. There are so many stupid commercials and I just ask why they think we are idiots who are easily amused? Thank you for your take on this tape…oh and sports bras. Nothing worse than trying to contort yourself out of a sweaty sports bra.

Obviously I'm being held captive by squirrels who have yet to demand ransom for my release Lol! Love your agenda today and the tape tips! I actually found about a 2 inch "authentic" aged tape in an old (70's) photo album that I gently removed and hold it as a prized piece for future use somewhere - so I understand the need to age shiny cellophane tape! Sadly I think my life had deteriorated to that level...joking....honestly! Love it!

Today I am a newly retired homeschooling grandmother. Thank heavens. I’m a newbie to journaling and to your channel. Your style is awesome. I am a fan of bras with no clasp.....sorry I had breast surgery several and cannot wear wired bras and I just step in and out of mine. Over the head is tough on the shoulders. Also own a canister vacuum....sorry. Don’t watch much TV but in general I am often lost when watching commercials. Thanks so much for sharing.

I normally agree about the lack of hooks being a problem in bras. But I found a good use for a sports bras without the hooks the other day. I had to go in for a chest X-ray, (not covid related) and was concerned when they told me they were working out of tents. So I found the old pull over the head sports bra (no metal!) and wore a t-shirt & sweats. Got there. They wanted me to put on a gown, so I told them I had no metal on. I didn't have to wear a funky gown or change in a weird tent. A definite win! And we don't mind the squirrels. Sometimes, I wonder if I'm the only one who has weird thoughts going through my head. Seems I am not. :)

truly enjoyed this video. Your thought process is a lot like mine. since I have been staying at home I am out in my space most nights till 12:30 or so. I a loving it! I have friends that dn't craft and they think I am crazy. Yeah I know, it is hard to believe that there are people in the world that don't have a whole room filled with stuff. I love my stuff! I am finding that I really don't miss getting out and seeeing people nearly as much as I thought I would. That kind of scares me a little. I could become some kind of weird old hermit lady or something. I am even thinking I would like to get a cat. My husband has allergies and I heard myself tell him he would just have to get over it. I am loosing it. LOL

This will also work with sharpie markers for those who don't have alcohol inks. Just squiggle and scribble and dot all over the tape and then spritz with alcohol. I sometimes swipe and blot with a paper towel or cotton ball before it dries.

Okay, I was really inspired to try out this technique Nik after watching your video. I did several strips with alcohol ink and dabbled it on then sprayed with alcohol, but I wasn't really impressed with the results. Maybe it was the colours I used. Like you I mixed up a concoction of colours to get brown. But then I had a thought. Yes, my mind is a squirrel nest of activity too. I used distress oxide ink in vintage photo. Best results happen when you you apply the colour directly on the the tape with the ink pad. It gives you a great colour much like aged tape and some resist areas that are awesome. I added a few finger prints too. You gotta have finger prints on your tape.tried it with walnut stain too. It's just a little darker. Thanks for sharing this fun technique. Hope you get a chance to try this way too.

I thought distress inks might work too (especially because I don't have alchool inks, lol). Only think I only have the "tea" distress ink, my other pads are "oxides" but maybe that would work just as well (with spraying water). Would have to try. One day... :D

I have a suggestion for your AcornTV trial! Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries (and the follow up movie Crypt of Tears; haven't seen the movie yet myself but I LOVED the series). It's gorgeous!
