In a recent patch they allowed storage boxes to be placed over spliters (this is huge for blueprint design). Some of your newest designs would benefit from this. For instance the #3 storage in your New Early Hub you could get rid of all of the inserters on the buffers and you never need to upgrade the spliters, plus less power usage. You can still put logistics on the storage boxes.

You are awesome for allowing us to use your blueprints like these. I build my stuff out with some of your earlier builds in mind, but these new builds each iteration gets better. I cannot wrap my head around any of some of these more elaborate designs and I thank you for enjoying your work with me and everyone else. This game is so complex and simple at the same time. I do worry that combat is going to make it not quite the same game, but I look forward to trying it again. I still have not built more than 1 dyson sphere in now my 4th game play through and have not built an artificial sun or even really worked much with any of the new miners, smelters, proliferators (except a few early builds I have from following your twitch VODs). Keep it up, I always try to check out all of your new games and have half of them on my Steam wishlist in hopes that when I have funds for them, I can pick them up and play some because of you.

I just started playing this game about two weeks ago and I'm hooked, about 65 hours in so far. I've watched a lot of your content before ever starting the game, your content is one of the main reasons I started playing. I just wanted to say thanks and keep it up! Also, with these blueprints, they're incredible, and I'm currently personally torn as to whether I want to try and come up with my own design or snag yours. Some of the most fun times in the game has been designing the layouts of things, but then some of the most frustrating times in the game have been when that design ends up being one square too narrow or wide. As a perfectionist I have to remove and rebuild it all one square over. On that note, I've just been making a blueprint of what I want to move, then removing it and stamping the blueprint at the new spot. There's not an easier way to move many belts and buildings and ILSs and PLSs just one square is there? There's so much to this game, maybe I'm just missing it. For example, last night I discovered if I have a few random things in my inventory and want to get rid of it I can find a belt running that item and just hold Tab to drop the item on the belt. The game just knows what item it is and what to drop. That was much easier than what I was doing before. I also like your use of the fidget spinners to clear random stuff from your inventory. Anyway, thanks for your videos!

You are so the man, I can't believe it. Stamping these down and then analysing them beeing built, they are real masterpieces, thanks a lot. I just found a small tweak in the new early hub: when you move apart the sorters on the gear-belt between the third "gear"- and the "mining-machine"-assembler, a spray coater fits in there and is able to proliferate the gears, so all gear-needing assemblers can pump up the output as well 🙂

Love it! One thing that may be helpful is to have an icon marker on the belt behind the assember indicating what it should build? If I stamp this down early on, a lot of the assemblers won't have the recipe defined. I've found myself in the past fumbling around to figure out which one it should build as I unlock. With the icon marker behind it (assuming that would even show if i haven't unlocked it) it's an easy quick check. Just a thought.

Nilaus at this point I don't even like using your blueprints because it's gotten too easy to play the game. But I absolutely have internalized your design language for approaching new builds / setting up new planets. Some of the most important conventions: polar hubs with ILS's, PLS's for the builds on the planet, allocating planetary sectors for appropriate builds, having a dedicated smelting planet where "basic items" are all manufactured from, and much more I'm sure. On my current playthrough I'm creating a dedicated planet to produce white cubes @ 30 / sec, and I'm using what I learned from your previous masterclass on designing factories. Avoiding the blueprints but adopting the principles :)

Perfect timing, I recently built your previous early game logistics hub (which was very useful even though I'm in midgame!) and I was in the process of making changes in order to upgrade the belts/sorters/assemblers, but you've saved me the trouble. The make everything hub also looks super helpful because I need so many particle colliders to make strange matter for all my space warpers. One tiny little comment about the previous early game hub: I noticed that every other basic component has dedicated storage except the basic donut magnets (the ones just made from iron ore). I wanted to extend the hub to make the super-magnetic rings, so I ended up sticking one extra arc smelter hooked up to a storage box with a logistics hat, but I'm sure you would be able to make a much nicer system for it! It's not that important but I thought I would let you know.

@natemarion95102 жыл бұрын
Nilaus, you ever thought about adding automatic reclamation to your factories? Rather than producing literally everything in one factory, you could also set up specialized builds that use 2 or more ILS, and have one of them requesting the finished product, and the other supplying. When you're done building on a planet, you can toggle the remote hub from request to supply, and all the unused buildings go back to the production facility automatically to be reallocated.

fyi; One of the blueprints is broken as it only contain spaces, it's in \Intermediate Products - ILS\Electromagnetic Turbine 18.8.txt (iirc those are old anyway but might want to delete that one). Definitely could use some better system for naming blueprint folders/categories, it's kinda hard to tell what's actually "new" when half the folders are called "new..." and most of them don't have any description either, it's good you're now starting to use those! At least the blueprints do get a creation date included so after checking all the folders you get what you're looking for but maybe old designs that have been replaced with newer/better designs could all be archived under one "old/deprecated" folder? (And maybe use actual version numbers for updated designs rather than "new" make it v2.0, v2.1 for hotfix, etc.. saves all the headaches of renaming things later)

@王沛升2 жыл бұрын
@@vortexianx Exactly, and I'm alredy using it a lot, really usful for trying to sneak a box between building and raise belt at a same time like a hub or bus. Also, because of the hitbox of spliter form is much smaller, you can sandwich it between two blets and put a box on it.

Very nice design, the only very picky improvement would be to remove all the splitters at the ray receivers, because they are single threaded and generally a bad idea to use, if you want to optimize UPS/FPS (like are solar panels and pilers).

Love the new design. Tested it out last night. The warpers got stuck in the loop and couldn't fill the ILS. One never filled to 50. The other (where it was imported) varied under the import amount. Not sure what the fix is, I ended up removing a portion of the belts so that it doesn't loop.

A couple of questions. 1) Is the yellow matrix band just an aesthetic choice? I see a similar band around the equator which doesn't appear to have a direct function. 2) There is an assembler without a recipe. There are no sorters into it, either. Is it supposed to be set to something? Looks like a remnant of something.
@Taeolas Жыл бұрын
The yellow matrix bands are just aesthetics; part of Nilaus's "signature" if you will. I suspect the empty assembler is just there for future updates if/when something else is released and otherwise there for aesthetic reasons to keep the pattern.

Ah, I kinda have to put this on an entire new planet because my homéworld where I put that basic hub/mall has been spagetthi'd and turned into a bit of a mess with random shit thrown together and ISLs all messy and I really cannot be bothered to remove and rework all the stuff that is in the way. (That and I am terrible at upscaling so my energy there is equally terrible.) so I decided to just say screw it and put stuff on a new world.... that said I may drop the game for a few months again. Placing stuff is kinda getting tedious, I have no idea how people don't get bored of throwing another miner or placing another factory for X. Not to mention I sometimes end up distracted fixing a minor thing and before I know it hours have passed and I basically did nothing worthwhile except increase the fairly small production of some random thing by like 10%.
@heavencanceler2691 Жыл бұрын
Alright wait I have only automated the most basic resource production and don't have a pool of more advanced stuff like the Coils set up in ILS oh damn... now I would have to also make that stuff too. Urgh.... yeah I think I may drop the game again.

Here's a tip/upgrade for this "Make Everything HUB" - there is no need to use Mk III Sorters. Instead: * place a Splitter * place a Box on top * place a Logistics Distributor * FEED 1-4 BELTS DIRECTLY INTO THE SPLITTER It fills the box as fast as the belt/s can handle it. Players might also find this very useful with beginning bases, feeding the output of several smelting lines (for example 4x Iron lines) easily into a single box - without requiring Sorters and Power Poles of any type. Power is only required once the Logistics Distributors are researched and put on top of the boxes with drones. Hopefully that's a cool tip for you-all, I suspect that it will spark a change in Nilaus' New Logistics HUB. If I manage to catch his next Dyson Sphere Program stream on Twitch I'll mention it.
@Yardiff2 жыл бұрын
Another enhancement: Use a splitter-and-box as a pass-through buffer. Like the liquid tank, stuff put in goes out the other side. Stack boxes and do these in series to make larger buffers. As the tech gets researched, the splitter will also stack the items it puts on the belt. I'm not sure if the liquid tank does that.
@demiareu8741 Жыл бұрын
As I remember devs posts (around ~Jan 2022) - it's better for performance to NOT use splitters if you could do it with sorters. Did they fixed that? UPD. They also advised to NOT use storage boxes a lot in end-game designs too (same issues with performance) :)
