knowing what a “yesman” is (a person who always agrees with someone on a higher standing than they are, such as their boss, without thinking for themselves) + the fact that the main character is supposedly a zombie (mindless creatures who only ever want to eat) makes me think that the meaning of this song is about breaking free from the monotony of doing the same thing constantly every day like this guy seems to think stanley parable-esque where stanley does nothing but push buttons on a keyboard just because it’s what his superiors say, until he gains the free will/desire to break free and explore
@krokusalt23534 жыл бұрын
I believe that you can not call someone a zombie if he obeys someone. A person always has motives for any action. Most zombies make an informed choice to be subordinate to someone. No one will work to their own detriment. By doing monotonous work, people help other people live. Everyone does this work to achieve something. So I think that the message of the author is a little different. Here is more likely a personal conflict of an inferior person. Man brings himself to the thought of the invaluable work being done. This is similar to what was said earlier, but from a slightly different angle.

Pretty sure Zombies were mindless undead Pawns following every command of their masters (see Voodoo for example) till hollywood gave them the image of the cannibalistic, always hungry monsters as we know them todax

@@PancakemonsterFO4 "zombies". I meant the people the commentator called zombies. You cannot call someone a zombie if he only obeys someone else.

You have 2 choices either to obey and live in boredom and well-being, or not to obey and live happily but in poverty
@krokusalt23534 жыл бұрын
@@wonderful_hater Living in poverty will not make you happy. Now the system that people have created works in such a way that a person needs money to be happy. If a family is enough for a person to be happy, then ok, but how can this family eat? Then what kind of happiness are we talking about? If you leave civilization, then the children of the family will be removed from society, and therefore there will be a lack of communication. There are many ways to get around and realize your happiness, you can hardly "have only 2 choices." For example, to invent something without obeying anyone, or to create your own business. Plus, there are jobs where the system works in such a way that you don’t obey anyone, but simply fulfill someone’s orders, that is, you help people. For example, helping people (to carry out any tasks to promote their business) brings me a certain particle of happiness. Everything is very relative

(1)"bone marrow" probably means "one's true mind" or "true spirit". also, there's a saying that's "issunsaki wa yami", which literally translates to "an inch ahead is dark", meaning no one knows what might happen in the future (2)the "dancing" verb here might also be translated as "fluttering" or "revolving", i think "dancing" is the most fitting. (3)the kanji says that this line means "foolish" but the reading of this line (baka na) can also mean "impossible". i don't know if a double-meaning is intended. (4)also can be translated as "letting sleeping dogs lie", basically ignoring problems because trying to deal with them might cause other problems. (5)i have literally zero idea which possessive suffix the word "heart" has because none was used in japanese. i am not sure if there's some kind of saying i don't know and couldn't translate here. (6)the japanese word for "moaning" is shingin, it's reading is the same as singin'. niru also used this word in traffic jam (retsu shingin, it was read as "let's singin'" that time) i'd die happy if niru kajitsu ripped my heart out of my ribcage

Me, when Niru Kajitsu releases a new song: YES MAN!
I can't stop thinking that the character here is the character from Hungry Nicole Edit: this could actually be true since the chorus says "UNDEAD", while Hungry Nicole heavily implies that the main character is a corpse, but I guess we have English translation to wait for to be sure

every one of their songs are so addictive and relatable to the society. the visuals, the lyrics, the music, everything . A NEW SONG TO MY PLAYLIST
Alright my fellow English speakers I...don’t have a theory this time ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ in fact it’s not a theory at all more so a correction and an observation so that we don’t make improper assumptions. To put it short the story is just about a young man going into the work force at a young age. Being young and carefree, the higher ups put more burdens on him which eventually build up and causes him to destroy what made those higher ups happy: his constant work and their praise to keep working. I’m also adding that while this character can be seen as a factor worker, this room in particular is his mind deteriorating from the stress and so he destroys it once he can’t take it anymore. Now that that’s out of the way let’s make a few corrections about the song: ---------------- #1 This character isn’t Nicol from Hungry Nicole I know it’s weird. The same artist, color palette, etc., but it turns out that this isn’t Nicol at all. The character is in fact named ‘Noman’ as stated on the character sheet on Koronosuke Koron’s (the artist who animate the video) Twitter and is stated to be Nicol’s cousin on the PIXIV FANBOX. You also might be thinking, “...but that could be Nicol’s real name...” which I would agree with, but that isn’t the case. On Koron’s Twitter, he has a store on Pixiv BOOTH which sells art books, t-shirts, and, most importantly, Keychains and Picture frames. While the pictures for the key chains may have been taken down (R.I.P. Precious Junk Keychain) on BOOTH and on Koron’s Instagram (@Koron5623 is his Twitter and Instagram in case he takes down the one on BOOTH for future readers), Koron made frame merch of all the characters he had created up to that point. This resulted in many name reveals for Koron’s others characters (Precious Junk, Gleam, and a few more) but more importantly Nicol. So this proves that they are two separate people. ---------------- #2 The pig on the background screens Another commentor pointed out that there’s a pig figure in the background that looks somewhat similar to the ‘Pig Wife’ in Hungry Nicole. However this figure is a reference to Hungry Nicole itself, as many other commentors pointed out that the mascot in Wozwald, Flurry and Welter’s scarf, and the Bellboy’s hat from Haine Kleine is also there in the background. It also helps that Koron also animated Hungry Nicole so making a reference was really easy on Koron’s part. However with it being that Noman is Nicol’s cousin it’s obvious that he would know her so she’s also there to strength the connection between both songs. ---------------- #3 The ‘undead undead’ line This line is what also made me believe that ‘Yesman’ was connected to Hungry Nicole in the first place, and while it does point to the fact that this “eventually insanity” sad runs in the family, it also points out how awful the workplace can be especially when pertaining to young adults. Noman is just that, a young man who got a job too young, too early resulting in his slow, and but inevitable deterioration within his own work environment (just as how Nicol got married too young, and too quickly). It’s basically like the how young adults are and accept their mistreatment by their superiors and how this could lead to a toxic lifestyle until they break down. ---------------- That’s basically the entire plot of the story, along with any misconceptions that were brought along with it. If I missed anything please put it in the comment section below and I’ll see you guys around 🎈
@alooxuzzooxis70254 жыл бұрын
Sorry but i think it is connected to hungry nicole. The pig could be considered an easter egg but character design is way too similar to be a coincidence. Also idk if we were on the same site but one of the comments has a link to Koron's post which says "By the way, he is NOMAN. Nicole's cousin" which ties the two together
@kendrillion72814 жыл бұрын
@alooxuz zooxis Well as I said above it is the same artist who animated both of these MVs (which is why I said it’s an easy reference) but if Noman is Nicol’s cousin than that’s very interesting. I can’t read Japanese so I hope this is true but if that’s the case then dang I guess “eventually insanity” runs in the family
