Nils has always seemed like such a great guy. And, he’s clearly extremely talented, too. I always enjoy seeing him on stage with Bruce and the E Street Band. He definitely deserves this recognition.

Thankfully my brother turned me on to Nils when I was 14. Had never heard of him (being a young punk) but still love the Cry Tough album, one of my favorites to this day.

Just a bit surprised not to have his brother Tommy mentioned more as he played with Nils all the time back when we grew up in MD.

@@mmhenle He made his mark here in MD. Grin was the top band through the 70's . I knew him well & Tommy when they lived in Garrett Park which is on the border of Rockville & Bethesda MD, He still needs to be the front man as he can easily burn Bruce & Van Zant with his hands behind his back. He may an Arizonian resident but he's still our local superstar. With all the time he doesn't have he still manages to come back to MD to play a few shows at a venue very close to where his folks lived on Raleigh Ave.

And thanks to the wonderful people of Arizona for electing Nils into the Arizona Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Arizonans have great taste in music. From The Stone Poneys playing Mike Nesmith's tune, sung by Linda Rondstat, a native Tusconian to the Mollies that I saw in Bisbee and loved them.

I have always liked Nils. He does something on the guitar that I can't do, but I keep on trying. And that is Nils often times does not play with a pick. Often I see him using his left hand to strum or to pick. I have always figured he could do that on an electric guitar, because one can always turn up the volume of the electric axe. And that was something I found that was prohibitive in the bands I was in. Because they didn't like hearing the rythym guitar playing that loud. But one has to do something, because the drums over shadow any dynamic one is trying to work into a song. And now after not playing for months, I want to go upstairs and plug in. I think I am now over my mid life crisis on the guitar.
