It's worth remembering that the inkine race here is so much longer than the timetrial Nils is doing. Looking at Bart doing a 12min effort on wheels, you would likely see fewer broken lines, as the speed would be higher. I love using inline in the summer, as ice often gets very clinical and, almost overly focused in winter. Inline skating is much more versatile than ice, as you can throw kn your skates and go, like on a bike. You can skate different track from an empty parking lot to a banked or parabolic track for racing. It is a form of mental break

Oh yes Emil, this is not to judge either as better! Thank you for the comments!

…btw: you can apply the double push technique either by using glutes and/or upper leg muscles.

I strongly believe that also inliner use bodyweight and not just pushing the leg outside

So that would be why, perhaps, that I feel like I'm going to fall over to the side the first time I go out on inlines....... which I've always thought I did not do very well.

Yeah it's a paradox...like you need to be inside the blade then violently outside the blade - hence the "double push" of inlining

Can we see a comparison of marathon to a track distance on inline and see if the difference is as drastic as far as lines are concerned ? I was watching some of the Colombian women and at first glance it looks like they get out over the skate more and stride more on the turns….. maybe also ice marathon skater like Bergma to a shorter middle distance race ? Just an idea to visualise the comparisons (maybe you did that already when you talked about the rise in CoM, can’t remember exactly)

I'll look this over, and see if I have anything useful to share.

Thanks so much for your videos. Not sure the example of the breakout is the best situation for this analysis. Maybe this Pascal Briand Video kzbin.info/www/bejne/hGmtaZiXd66Ihqs would work better? I think your analysis is on point though. A collab/chat between you two guys would be amazing. On a side note the connotation of your adjectives (pure, finess, gracefull) is a bit onesided ;)

Thanks for the comment. What adjectives would you use to balance things out?
